    Hi,

I got the Maschine Mikro 2 before Christmas as part of a mental health enablement fund and for some reason have been entirely unable to install the software. The installer downloads the ISO perfectly, but when it comes to the installation process a strange thing occurs- The USB in/out sound triggers, the installer runs for a while without doing anything and then says it can't find the ISO. The same happens when attempting virtual mounting of the ISO- USB in/out sound triggers then nothing. Strangely enough it's not just the Maschine software doing this- the entirety of Komplete Select is doing the same thing no matter what I try.

    So far I've tried:
    > -Virtual mounting
    > -Running as Administrator
    > -Multiple Downloads to ensure the integrity of the ISO
    > -Editing/removing the registry filters
    > -Using NI diagnostic tool to check for corrupted/improperly installed NI products
    > -Un-installing all Native Instruments Products just in case and trying again.
    > -Mounting the ISO to a blank physical disc in the disc drive and executing from
    > there.
    > -Directly downloading the ISO and installer separately, moving them to their own
folder and executing the installer from there.
    > -A remote session with NI's support team
    > -Creating a New User
    > -Disabling the Anti Virus software
    > -Unplugging all USB interfaces during installation
    > -Un-installing other music software (Halion, Cubase, East West) then re-installing to confirm the problem is specific to the NI installers

Amongst a host of others. The Support team despite their valiant efforts seem as stumped as I am, so I turn to you good folk in the hopes that you've encountered something like this before and have some recommendations for me.

I installed Komplete Elements on this same laptop in January 2014 with no problems at all, and to my knowledge it seems all that's changed since then is the aesthetic of NI's installers. I'll attach my system details to this post. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have the exact same issue, I bought maschine studio & installed it on my PC using the installation disk (was a bit disappointed that it was 2.0 & the instructions directed me to the website, which said to ignore the setup instructions that came with the product, if your spending close to £1000 I think it should at least come with the relevant info, I understand updates Etc.) but anyway, I got through the installation easily enough and decided to also install it on my laptop (my PC is dual core i3, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD with onboard graphics & my laptop is quad core i7, 12GB RAM, 1TB SSHD & GTX 840M graphics card). After download I clicked install & got the same noise you described, and then the same missing ISO with a message saying move it to the same location as the installer (that is where the ISO was already), I too tried uninstalling, disabling anti virus Etc. but to no avail, sent a support request & was asked for screenshots, sent them but did not hear back from NI, just sent another request for support today and decided to try the forum, but after seeing your problem not having any replies/advice I'm not too confident, while I can use my PC my laptop is more powerful & portable, & I would rather use that.

Hi man! I have some very good news from my end- I very very recently got it all working!! I still have no idea why it wasn't working in the first place and NI support were super helpful to a point, but after an unsuccessful live session (That actually broke my Skyrim installation of all things) all I'd get back upon pressing for further help were emails asking me to try what I'd already done, replace my laptop or telling me that my copy of Windows must be corrupt. Anyway with a bit of solo investigation, turns out my windows installation wasn't corrupt at all and it was indeed specifically NI's installers which were the issue- all I needed was a different virtual drive approach for the iso.

    Try this:
    https://www.redfox.bz/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

    ^^^
VirtualCloneDrive 5.50 did the trick for me! Excellent bit of Freeware- I didn't even know it was a thing till I started looking in to alternate virtual drive programs (And I tried a LOT in this merry saga).

I won't lie to you, this isn't a fix. It's a work around. It's an incredible pain but you'll have to go through and install each individual VST and program manually one by one, but the end result for me is that I now have everything I bought installed and functioning as it should be. I hope that result is the case for you as well!

It's unfortunate that the installers are apparently so temperamental. The sounds are excellent and Maschine itself is of course incredible- but if buying from NI means either a lengthy and fruitless tech support process and/or having to go through and install everything manually using freeware each and every time I buy software then I can easily see myself and others getting further disinclined to use the service.

thanx for letting me know so quickly, I have already spent over 2 weeks on this without any help from NI. rather than deleting everything again and starting over, I installed the program you suggested and mounted the maschine installer, installed maschine 2 software but it crashed the first time I tried to launch it. (tried the install file again just to see if the ISO would be recognized but still get the same ISO not found message, as you said it's a work around and not a fix), checked programs in control panel and maschine was there, launched it again and it loaded fine. downloaded the drivers and then mounted the factory library, this also went ok. I then moved on to komplete select, I'm not finished yet as it takes ages, but what I've done so far seems to work. I just hope that NI can improve their support and website. after spending a lot money on a product no one should have to search through forums looking for other paying customers to fix problems related to installing the product. I was expecting to hit the forums to get tips on using the maschine studio, not getting it installed. thanx again for your help, from your laptop specs it looks like we have similar machines (I have lenovo z710 ideapad with i7 4700mq) and because my PC only has an i3 2100 dual core, I really wanted to use maschine with the laptop.
