[issue] FM7 v1.1.3 Files Browser allways opens the same path folder

Hi,

When trying to load patches and/or sysex, FM7 opens its files browser to the same path folder everytime, not remembering the last used path.

Workflow killer when loading a lot of sysex/patch files.

Is this a known issue ?

Is there a fix or a planned fix for his issue ?

Ok,

I found a workaround for this:

You'll have to edit the registry ( I'm in windows XP pro ):

Execute regedit, and find the Key:

HKEY_USERS\X-X-X-XX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXX\Software\Native Instruments\FM7

X-X-X-XX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXX being your user ID you'll have to find the right one.

If you see a Value named 'WorkDir', delete it.

Doing so, FM7 will now remember the last used directory, *but* for the current FM7 session only. When you quit then re-start FM7, the File Browser will open to the Desktop path.

If you want to 'fix' the directory whenever FM7 start, then fill the 'WorkDir' value with you prefered path. *but* this time, when ever you open the File Browser, the last path will not be remembered and the File Browser will allways open to this 'WorkDir' directory.

At least you can now choose the Directory.

I guess this should be fixed on the NI side.
