Thanks ew, I missed that KB

The Service Center say Kore 2 is not activated, but I cannot
"Browse to the current installation folder by pressing the Locate button."

because HD/Application support /NI/Core2 folder does not contain the application, so I cannot continue with those directions.

Was Kore 2 part of my Komplete 6 installation or is it a separate purchase. It seems to want a separate serial number. I assume I should have it since Guitar Rig depends on it (and I assume that is why GR is not starting up).

Everything worked fine until I upgraded GR, Massive, and Kontakt, and only GR is giving me problems.
KorePlayer is Activated, but it also lists "No Binary Found", and I cannot locate it

    ?

Kore's a separate app and purchase- it's not included in Komplete and vice versa.

ok, then it's core player 2.1.1 I need to get GR working?

    Same problem!
    in User/L/AS/NI/KP I have koredb, PlugList-xml, and SoundPacks-cache
in HD/L/AS/NI/KP I have two folders - DatabaseCache and Plugins from Komplete (all vst which I don't use).

Still can't locate it to reinstall or update either thru ServiceCenter or NI downloads.
What exactly am I trying to locate in Overview and where is it supposed to be?

    ?

No- they're completely separate apps. The Kore player has nothing to do with the full version of GR.
Good question, considering I haven't a clue as to what you're trying to do. Once again, Kore/Kore player and GR are completely separate apps.

ew This is what got me started on my questions

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102239 (Guitar Rig 4.0.8...When?)

""Here is an excerpt from the GR4 4.0.8 note for Public Beta:
"- It is not compatible with the currently available version of Kore 2. Compatibility between Guitar Rig 4.0.8 and Kore 2 will be restored with the upcoming Kore 2.1.1 update""

So in trying to fix GR, I came here because I have issues installing KorePlayer 2.1.1 When I started my query I was not aware of the the diferenced between Kore and KorePlayer.

As it turns out I'm not the only one having problems with both apps (Guitar Rig update 4.0.8 problem - http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?p=669858#post669858)

But coming back to the problem in this thread - you sent me to a page detailing the fix on Kore not being found by the update installer (using the overview tab in ServiceCenter) - but that fix is not working for me.

The updater and Service Center cannot find KP. My question is where should the binary be found and what is it called. If I cannot locate the binary, then I cannot update it, so I would need to know where to download an original full installer.

The Kore player's wherever you told it to install; it's called Kore player. And, it has absolutely nothing to do with your GR install.

The blurb you quoted was for those who own both GR and the full version of Kore; if you aren't properly updated with both, you can't import GR patches into Kore. That's the issue, and it has no bearing on your case.

I'm having issues with the latest Kore (2.1.1). The plugins installed fine but the standalone app refuses to install. I've tried removing the app completely and installing but it doesn't install on OSX. I still have version 2.0.4 while the plugins are on version 2.1.1. As you can imagine that has created some major issues with the database among other things. I really don't want to install Kore from scratch. I have too many soundpacks and settings that I really don't want to have to mess with.

A fresh Kore install won't do anything to your soundpacks; those won't be touched unless you uninstall both them and delete the SoundPacks.cache. And, if you don't remove koredb, all your custom ratings, etc. will stay the same.

Cool. Thanks. Last time I had to do a total reinstall it was a mess and took way too much time that I didn't really want to spend fixing the issue. Anyway, I was able to figure out what was going on. I went into the service center to see if anything looked odd an noticed that the installation path was pointing to my external HD where I keep the actual sample content for Kore and Komplete among other sampled instruments as well. For some reason Kore was installing under Komplete -> Kore Sample Content -> Kore Sound packs. So I copied the installation folder to the correct spot in my Applications folder and removed the one on the external HD. I opened Service Center again and it asked me to locate the installation path for Kore and I pointed it to the proper location. That resolved the issue. The only reason I didn't notice it before is because Spotlight hadn't indexed that HD yet so the path wasn't showing up in my search results only the old Kore install that was in my applications folder that had 2.0.4. I figured it was installing elsewhere, I just didn't know where.
