Issue with multiple stereo outputs in Kontakt

    I struggle with Kontakt and multiple stereo outputs inside Vienna Ensemble Pro.

    I use the Kontakt.vst (not 8out or 16out versions). I have always used to create my outputs before adding instruments, so I click the plus button on outputs, and create 16 stereo outputs starting on channel 1.

    Instruments in my first 5 slots (output 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10) sounds good, but from 11/12 something weird is happening. It sound like mono outputs, and on higher channels there are no sound at all.

    11/12 to 23/24 are mono according to my meters in the DAW, and from 25/26 to 31/32 there are no sound what so ever.

    Am I missing something, or is there a way to get all stereo outputs from 1/2 - 31/32 working properly?

    Did you reload Kontakt after adding new outputs?

    From my experience, what works best is deleting all channels before creating new ones. So, the Add new outputs dialog would looks something like this:

    Then after this, completely unload Kontakt then load it back in again.

    I did close VEP and Studio One after adding channels, and now I seem to have at least 8 working stereo tracks (1/2 to 15/16). So at least I can reduce my number of instances of Kontakt. I will investigate further - it may be on the DAW on my master computer not recognizing the outputs from VEP.

    Update: So it seems to be working when updating the instrument outputs inside Studio One. When you activate/deactivate one of the stereo outputs, there is being sent a message to VEP, stopping and restarting the audio enginge. A bit fiddly, but it seems to work.

    The instrument I named "BRASS" is an instance of Vienna Ensemble Pro plugin.

    Hi there, I am writing onto this topic having a similar issue I would like to solve. Creating multiple Outs, up to 16pairs in Kontakt works fine, I have one usecase where more are needed, so I created 19, bot some of the 'extra' ones get as 2 seperate Mono channels into my DAW ( Cubase); Anybody having some advice on that?

    See image in post #2, change the number 16 to 19, after it's done remove Kontakt instance then load it again.

    Thanks for your input, I had to save the setup as default, after that it worked..
