Current version available does not come with an nicnt file and you don't get a serial to register in NA...Sennheiser basically turned it into an unlicensed third party library and you have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work properly...

Are you actually able to get it to work properly? I ask because I went through the same registration process as Cesar Ortega, got the same download link, and also ended up with a badly corrupted file.

I re-downloaded the file three more times using three different Web browsers and a even a command-line download manager (aria2), and each time I ended up with an identical file that is 4,004,601,293 bytes in size, has an MD5 hash of 4c0d8f4b4a3804894c04ca54c19ad222, and contains some 1,500 corrupted files (out of around 12,000).

Most unzip programs skip over the corrupted files, so they simply end up missing. I happen to be a software developer and so I wrote a custom unzip program to actually extract and keep the affected files, but alas, they are truly corrupted and Kontakt won't accept them.

Sennheiser needs to replace the file with a new one that has been zipped from the original source files and then tested, uploaded to the CDN server, downloaded, and verified to work. But I can't even figure out how to contact them to explain what the problem is.

I explain what I did in post #13 above. I had no issue with the zip file or any of the resources once that path was corrected. As far a Sennheiser fixing the issue, since they pretty much gave up on the library (and it is free), they are not going to spend any time doing that. And just to clarify, I am on Windows, not sure if that applies, just thought I would mention it.

They have a phone number and contact center listed on their website at the bottom...

I can confirm there are CRC issues in the archive they put up for download.

Thanks for the confirmation. If Blindeddie was able to successfully download a good copy of the file at some point, I can only surmise that the file on the server has been updated with a bad copy since then.

I saw that, but I also saw this FAQ entry here that isn't exactly encouraging me to pick up the phone:

Well obviously they didn't test the download that's there, so they should be warned about it... This falls in the "I can't even use it because your download is borked" category.

They shouldn't be so confident. :)

I went ahead and submitted a problem report using their Web support form. I had to choose arbitrary “category” and “product” items because “software” and “DrumMic’a!” are not among the available options, respectively. My report included a link to this thread.

I'll post here again if I hear back.

I got a reply today, but unfortunately it was a canned response that did not address the issue. I replied back explaining the situation again.

I'll post here again if I hear back.

Just got another reply. The person I'm in contact with says that he cannot reproduce the problem on his end, but he also said that he has
forwarded my report to the DrumMic’a! software product manager.

I'll continue to update this thread. Fingers crossed.

Hi guys, I am also facing the same issue.
I had downloaded and installed the zip file back in April (I'm don't remember where from) and everything worked fine.
After a computer crash I'm in the process of installing everything I need to be up and running.
I've downloaded the zip file from the Sennheiser's website 3 times and used different software to extract and I can confirm that it contains errors and corrupt files. Spire42 my hopes lies with you!

    Good news, everyone!

The DrumMic’a! software product manager sent me a link to the file on an alternative server (personal Microsoft cloud), and it worked perfectly. I was able to unzip it without any errors and load it into Kontakt without any problems (other than having to manually locate the NKR file).
    • Bad file on CDN server:
      Size: 4,004,601,293 bytes
      MD5 checksum: 4c0d8f4b4a3804894c04ca54c19ad222
    • Good file on alternative server (personal Microsoft cloud):
      Size: 4,004,371,087 bytes
      MD5 checksum: 5299e4296042e866abeb44273cebc779
I've replied to let them know that the file on the alternative server is OK, and that the file on the CDN server needs to be deleted and replaced with the good one. Although I don't have permission to share the link to the good file here, I've asked them to let me know when the file on the CDN server has been fixed, and I'll update this thread when I hear back.

I have a link, but I don't have permission to share it.

Give it a few days; now that the right person knows what the problem is, it shouldn't be too long.

When I use "Add Library" in Native Access and point to the directory where I have put the DrumMic'a folder, Native Access won't will give me a "library path is invalid message" (the path is correct though and the locate function worked just fine for other libraries).

Do you have an idea what the problem might be? DrumMica license is listed in my NI Account / Native Access from back in the days, so I expected it to still work.

If you downloaded the library from Sennheiser recently, it's not a Kontakt Player version anymore, so it won't be authorizable by NA.

Oh, I see. So I would need the original download file from back in the days, which is no longer publicly available, even when I have DrumMic'a in my account? I guess I will have to say goodbye to DrumMic'a then.

Yeah, you'd need the original download. I have it, I could upload it somewhere.
