    Ok,
maybe I am just stupid here. I have an instrument or an effect in Kontakt, i want to delete the instrument or effect. in the manual it says i should click on the instrument/effect so it is highlighted and then press del. this way it always deletes the track in logic but not the instrument in kontakt. is there any way to work around that or is this a bug????

    Thanks for any help,
    stephen

    p.s:
    some crashes:
    - to get a sure shot crash in logic you have to try to insert kontakt in multi-channel mode.
    - adding an ahdsr modulation source to send effects crashes logic as well.

    os x 10.2.8., logic 6.3.1. ti 1 Ghz 1 Gb,

Your first problem is not really a bug, but shortcoming of Logic I think. There's a easy workaround:

Select the module and use the "remove selected module" from the File menu in Kontakt.

There is supposed to be a "Logic keyboard workaround" option under preferences, but it doesn't work for me. Kontakt does not receive any keystrokes, everything is sent to Logic. YMMV..

I have found loads-a-bugs in Logic/Kontakt 1.5, several ways to crash them.... there are also somethings working fine in 1.2 that is NOT working anymore. hehehe.. but I dunno if I should list them here... NI support isn't responsive either.

Kontakt 1.2 in OS9 was way more thrustworthy. (As in, it WAS thrustworthy)

deleting instuments in 1.2 VST in Logic
is damn annoying - it crashes about 25% of the time - doesn't matter whether you use the manu command or keyboard 'workaround'.
There is a restriction with Logic for sure but there's also a bug in Kontakt. It's a major time waster

    ok, thanks for the replies.

i realised that i could remove the instrument manually. but still there is an issue just removing an effect. lets say i wanna hear that drumsound with a compressor in logic but in the end wanna get rid of the compressor. i can only do so by completly reseting the instrument.
after fiddling around a bit, i figured out that (of course) the backspace (in my setup) deletes a track in logic, but the del sometimes seem to work with kontakt. i stress sometimes here. sometimes it all just works fine, press del, get rid of an effect. cool. go around the corner have a cup of coffee, come back with some coffein in the blood and suddenly the del doesn't work anymore... this is REALLY annoying.
and for the crashes, i got my crash-count up to 7 times in an hour. mostly while playing around with the filters. let's say not playing around but just inserting them.

i really like that sampler but this is not what i would call a stable application.
