    Hi all,

I just got myself a Traktor audio2 MKII & want to use it with my iPad mini retina which is running iOS 7.1.1 & using Traktor DJ.
I'm using apple's lighting adaptor to connect it with the iPad & the issue I'm having is when I do this both of the lights from the main & headphone output are flashing & Traktor DJ freezes & thats as far as I get. I have been able to get it working as it supposed to 3 times but most of the time it just freezes & the flashing lights.
Traktor 2 works fine with my macbook just not with the iPad, any help would be awesome.

For me the Audio 2 works perfect, every time. For me it sounds like a bad cable, if you have access to another one it's an easy thing to check. You can also reset your iPad but it doesn't sound like a problem like that...

It can't be the iPad as I have an iPad Air as well & I tried it with the Air & same issue, the lighting cable is brand new & so is the Audio 2...

Same issue here on iPad Air and iPhone 5s.

Worked fine for a few hours and then after I'd had the iPad on charge all the trouble started.

There is a thread in the Traktor Audio Interfaces forum which is worth a read.
    http://www.native-instruments.com/f...-at-all-with-new-ipad-air-and-ios-7-1.217951/

A guy in there had a spare NI power adapter... plugged that in and all the problems went away.

This isn't a solution I'm happy with as I'd like to be portable. Also I'd like to use the Audio 2 in 'The Audiofile Setup' as shown in the setup options on the product page

Connect TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 to your iOS device* when on-the-go for quality, pristine audio.

I just finished testing the Audio 2 on my mac and it worked fine.

I also tested it on my wife's iPhone 4s which has 30 pin rather than lightning... It worked flawlessly!!!

This brings me to two conclusions:

    1. The Audio 2 does not work with the latest iPad or iPhone, without the NI power adapter.

    2. I may have been sold a counterfeit Lightning to 30 pin adapter by an amazon marketplace seller.

I plan on visiting an Apple store and asking them to compare my adapter to one that is definitely legit and see if there is any difference.

iPad air + Audio 2. But sadly I have to revise "works perfect, every time". Since I wrote that I've had one crash a month and that is not acceptable.

I just got the following in an email from NI support, they acknowledged the problem is affecting other users. Lets hope Apple or NI can sort a permanent fix soon. Below is a temporary solution they offered:

This problem only happens if:- you use a Lightning adapter
    - and use the Audio2 without power supply

Except using a PSU there is also one workaround that will make it work again.

    Please try this:
    - press the 'home' button twice, and then swipe all apps upwards to unload them
    - power off the iPad (long press on power button, then swipe to the right)
    - power on the iPad again
    - open Traktor DJ
    - only now connect the Audio2

It will now work, but as soon as you disconnect the A2 from the iOS device, you
need to repeat above steps to make it work again.
