It can't find it's soundbanks !

I've just installed Elektrik Piano (bundled in a Komplete 3 upgrade). Soundbank are installed on a Firewire HD, with the Kontakt, Intakt, Battery, etc ones. When the soft is launched, the default sound is Empty and the File button menu shows only :

As you can see, nothing to select a sound from the bank
Of course, the path is correct in the setup.

Anyone help ?

 

Have you run it as a standalone? If so, do you get that error then?

The screenshot is taken from the standalone.

Even in Kore (when i can access it, see my other thread), the sound list is empty.

I'm sad.

 

Hi,

Is your library path set correctly?

In the "options" menu there is a place where you select the directory where you installed the EP library i.e. Instruments and Multi folders and the NKS files. Are you sure that yours is set to the correct directory?

When you open EP there is no sound loaded until you load one (whether it is set up correctly or not).

Yes it is, as i said :

On this screenshot, you can see this path (sound is my firewire volume that contains EP soundbank).

And yes it's mounted when i launch the soft.

 

The library should have installed to a folder named Elektrik Piano Library. Either you renamed the folder or you're looking in the wrong folder. If you renamed the folder, rename it to Elektrik Piano Library. If you didn't, browse to that folder.

See if that works...

just received komplete 3 and i have the same problem, i updated electrik piano, i opened in stand alone.
option points to the right directory.
should i remove everything and reload?

 

Try this first...

Open EP, and then the options menu. Even though the sample path is correct, use the browse button, go out of the proper folder and come back to it. Close the options menu, close EP and reboot. Now, open it up again. Is it fixed?

sorry it did not work!!!
I removed the preference files and then when i open the piano it asks for the destination of the sample file. And after that i get the same results???
The weird thing is i opened Kore and there i could get true the elektrik piano sounds ???
I will try to reload the samples from the komplete 3 dvd,(when i loaded komplete i took the sample file and put it direcly in a firewire hard drive.

 

I've renamed the folder Elektrik Piano Library, set the new path, restart OSX, relaunch EP, it still not founds it's library.

I've deleted it from the hd, and re-copied the whole "Elektrik Piano Library" folder from the Komplete 3 dvd. Still the same issue.

solution; I removed the elektrik piano vst and au plug ins nd put the komplete 3 dvd in and loaded komplete 3 selecting only the elektrik piano plug in + tha elektrik piano samples,
I was asked were the samples files would go and Voilà.
What i discovered is that the elektrik p samples are in a file named samples.
I opened EP and went to the option buton and checked the files directorie and closed EP. I reopened it and there they were finaly.
I after that went to the service senter to get the update.
PS; im on a Mac, so before i did what i just explaned i went to the preference files of EP and removed them(2) and put them in the garbage.

I'm not sure to understand : You have uninstalled the vst and au plugins, and reinstall them with the library ? What did you do with the standalone ?

I'm on a mac too. I see you're from Montreal, maybe you speak french ? It would be great because translating the procedures is not always so simple for me...

 

oui, il faut tout mettre à la poubelle (le fichier Elektrik piano dans Application et les samples) .
1; une fois que tout est dans la corbeille.
2; instale seulement elektrik piano et ses samples partir du dvd Komplete 3
3; à l'installation on te demandera de choisir ou tu veux installer le fichier samples.
4; une fois que le tout est installé ouvre EP en standalone et avec le bouton option tu pourras diriger EP vers le fichier ou sont installé tes samples.
5; ferme EP et réouvre et tu devrais retrouver ta banque de son.

It seems that the sample library can't just be drag & drop to the place we choose. It had to be done by the soft's installer.

I'v this new folder "Sample Libraries" too, and i'll try to put all my soundbanks there, to be clear in my hd organisation.

Hope this will not break everything...

 

Ah... if I had known you dragged and dropped...
Yeah, move your libraries to the Sample Libraries folder. Then, go into your options in each of your products that will normally default to that folder(Kontakt, Kompakt, EP, Intakt and Battery) and make sure the path's correct. Then, rebuild your database in the case of Kontakt, and rescan your plugins with all your hosts.

Sorry for the missing, the limits of my english speaking... :blush:

However, Kontakt, Battery2 and all the sample line products used to work fine. I just want to have them all at the same place cause it's my way of tidy my datas up.

In the case of personal soud banks, a battery one for example, should i store it in this Sample Libraries folder too ?

I am not sure which samples you have selected, but when I try, I get a message saying:

"No suitable contentfile was found at the selected location!"

The folder I have selected in Options is the Elektrik Piano library. But the screen still says EMPTY.

Need some help please.

 

same problem here - im on pc, i locate the library in the options (its the correct folder with the content, i also dont get an error message), but nothing happens.

edit: seems like the problem is the update that installs the kontakt patches - i could see in the registry that the content folder was set to my contact patch folder, even though that wasnt the folder selected in the elektrik piano options.

plus, when i reinstalled, i noticed how the installer insists on putting it into a folder "sample libraries" or so, THAT then having the subfolder "elektrik piano".

and this time it installed the instrument and performance folders, it didnt during the first install, or if it did, it didnt move them into the folder i selected during installation.

sounds like one of the really good problems to me, you know, the ones with several factors the installer is kinda ****ed up IMO, best thing is to just leave all settings at default during install, otherwise youre into trouble.

 

As i said in my post #10, the only way i found to fix this was to reinstall the whole app. It was with the mac version, but IMO it's a cross platform issue. Did you try to reinstall the libraries only, without the app, with the installer and not by drag & dropping ?

 

its one installer for both on the pc (actually its one installer for the whole komplete thing, you just have to uncheck everything but EP).

biggest mistake to make btw is really to update all apps before opening them. not only is the service center not aware of your actual software versions but simply lists all updates since day xy, it also seriously f***s up your library paths not only in EP. i basically reinstalled the entire komplete pack now.
