J Dilla siren sound: a tribute to Dilla or just plan biting?

    Mantronix "King Of The Beats" from 1988 definitely uses the same siren sound that Dilla used throughout Donuts, but I automatically think of reggae songs that are older than that one as having that one. Here's one from 1981 but I'm sure there's plenty of others:

    The days were taking other peoples signature sounds was prohibited are long gone, even sampling other peoples drums from the same genre was considered wack, now everyone does it.
    I am not the biggest 808-Mafia fan but they always used a very specific siren sound as a producer tag, so people knew the beat was from them, nowadays every type beat trap producer out there uses it... because its "cool". :confused:
