It looked like he did some sequencing in Maschine as well.

looks like he's sequencing the sounds from his mpc, via midi, maschine is a module.

That's how it looks, I could be wrong.

I thought it looked like at the beginning he was laying down the kick/snare from Maschine?

looks like he was just auditioning sounds from maschine, there's no patterns being recorded into the software, unless I missed that part, which is possible lol.

He's only using it as a sound module, but even then he was quite impressed with the sounds.

Yeah it looks like he's using maschine as a sound module and the MPC (60 I believe) as the sequencer. But it is nice that Jermaine and Brian Cox and all these other industry people are using it, this will ensure that maschine will become even more of a priority to NI's development team.

I think it's def a priority already :) We'll see some good things coming out of the Dev team I would imagine.

Yeah you're right, I agree that it's already a priority for NI but when you see big names like J.D. and Brian Cox using maschine you know their opinions carry a lot of weight with non industry musicians and you don't want them saying to people what maschine doesn't have or what it won't do but instead what it do. Think about it these guys come from mpc backgrounds and the first 2 things that will jump out at them is transport controls in vst mode and the inferior song mode. So I'm hoping NI makes that a priority for this next update.

NI has some work to do, but I'd say they are off to a great start.
I'd agree that Song mode is weak and we need more elegant ways of cut/copy/paste... They somehow need to recreate the ways of arranging regions and songs on a DAW in maschine.
But as I enter my 3rd week of using Maschine... I'm very impressed so far, running both stand alone and inside Logic :)

I actually like the copy and paste feature on Machine ! I extended a four bar loop into a 8 bar loop through copying and pasting by holding down the pattern button on Machine and clicking on double or duplicate which appears on the screen. However, I am having a prblem with machine and it's after using it for a little while, going back and fourth browsing samples and playing and recording. Browsing for samples using the actual hardware is a nightmare. It scrolls through the filter hella slow and takes a longer time browsing for factory samples. I have to shut the software down and restart it again. I notice that that sometimes it uses 400mb to start up... Why ? I noticed I've been having a harder time with it since the update. Are you having this problem ?
