My top complaint so far, not that there has been many, is needing to press shift +browse or instance. its just not fast enough for real time work. And what about a kick stand on the back that folded up and down to give the maschine a tilt. Think of PC Keyboards with the two stans on the back to prop up the keyboard

    -tilt screen
    -a lil bit bigger screen
-2-4 fader to assign it to any parameter...

I have to go with tilt screen and each group having a button or so to make 64 drum sounds per group

i think an x/y pad would be a total waste of space. more dedicated buttons and less usage of the shift button would make much more sense.
but tbh i like it the way it is and anything that would make it less compact isn't worth it imo. i like the fact that it fits nicely in my backpack.

defo add some sliders, like the old 2000, and a data wheel and maybe tilt screens

Maybe NI would make all these features a reality by creating an extra lil controller that can be daisy chained with Maschine by sliding it through Maschine's side panel connected through MIDI.

    Is this possible?

That way we don't have to give up our Maschines for new ones.

I don't want this thread jacked into a debate on whether there should be different versions of maschine or when the controller update should be or any of that. so this is strictly about How would you design it, as far as an add on style... I would think it would be easier to chain it through usb....
and that could be cool actually. as long as u could clip em together and also work it with or with out the expansion... so say I wanna work on a bus I only take the maschine, but in the studio I could hook up the expansion. interesting idea.

no really, that could be dope too lol, expansion controllers lol. :)

I still want a full workstation with 61 keys, maschine pads, knobs, faders, tilt screen, etc...like a workstation for real

    yes please, and thanks ;)

Definitely. If they designed it cooler than that, it would be something major!

I think the expansion controller idea could actually be really cool cause it would still allow the portability but give access to things you would ordinarily have to menu dive for. and give room for so many options, from dedicated faders to 16X16 monome style buttons for the sequencer to xy pads to a dedicated breakfast button.... ;) I need a breakfast maschine bad. my wife is inconsistent with it. haha

could be dope for sure, would have to fit together like a lego set :)

I see many different options here, who knows how it will pan out

would be kinda cool if the whole controller was built on a slight angle in addition to tilt screens.

oh I forgot my most obvious need ... cushioning on the bottom where the top of the controller meets the pads... (or just a wrist rest.) i am smacking the side of my thumb on the lip of plastic below the first row of pads all the time live... not cool.

    Maschine morphed with Euphonix

I would love to see them incorporate more mixing functions. I like the euphonix MC control v2 a lot. If maschine had a large color touch screen, faders and a jog wheel, i'd be super happy! I like the pitch bend wheel as well although you could do that on a touch screen along with other fx, ala kp3.

They would either have to make the maschine much larger or have it as an extension like previously mentioned. Me personally, I could care less if its bigger, I'll take function over a compact size.

Some people will point to the Dbeat as what i'm talking about. True that is similar to hat im talking about, but the maschine would be more flexible as far as you choosing your own cpu set up, vst's, etc... the software side of it.

Also a better connection other than USB. I like the ethernet idea, being that it's way way faster than usb or firewire.

I think it'd have to be a seperate model like a producers edition or something. It'd be f-ing rad!

Can anyone please show me the downside of a controller using USB 2.0? I could see if it was sending audio but its just data 2 way... maybe USB 3.0 one day but for a controller it seems overkill. Or am I missing something?
