Just installed Reaktor 5, but no Factory Library/Carbon 2

Today I installed Komplete 9 which came with Reaktor 5. I had everything selected during the install, apart from Kontakt 5 which it unchecked itself said I already had a newer version installed. Then I loaded up Reaktor, read the manual, and it suggests that I do the following:

"Click the Playerbutton at the Browser’s top. You will see all installed KOMPLETE Instruments listed in the upper area. Select the package REAKTOR Factory Selection with a mouse click."

Unfortunately, REAKTOR Factory Selection is not on that list. The list shows: Monark, The Finger R2, Reaktor Spark R2, and Reaktor Prism. Nothing else.

Any idea what is wrong here?

Press the "Factory" button to see the folders for "ensembles" beside the list you mention.

Ok... I can see a 'Carbon' in Ensembles/Classics/Synthesiser... but there's no Carbon 2 anywhere.

Wait, I think I found it under Instruments/Synthesizers.

Any idea why this is very different from the docs?

reaktor 5 is 9 years old, and has been through several major overhauls.
to be honest, a lot of stuff in the early documentation is not as accurate as it could be ;)

Carbon 2 ensemble is in the "ensembles/ new addditions/ syntheziser" folder.
Carbon ensemble is in the "ensembles/ classics/ syntheziser" folder.

And there are ensembles i the "electronics instruments" folders.

Also read about old "legacy library" that is not installed as default, you can choose to discover when you know more, in the program native instruments reaktor library ensembles folder.

Instruments you have to connect the outputs in the edit window to get sound, until the connected instruments it's saved as ensemble.
You learn as you use Reaktor.

Thanks LBH! Not sure why nobody has updated the PDF manual after all this time, but I think I have enough to get started now, thanks.

Is there any sort of updated guide? It's ok saying "You learn as you use Reaktor" but you can't actually follow the tutorials in the Getting Started section of the manual any more because many of the options have moved or been removed. eg. Snapshot properties have been changed and I can't see where the 'master for plugin' is.

I don't know of any updated material of any kind beside the delievered material. And it's old, and not really tutorials in how to use the instruments.
The only thing is the instrument guide in the documentation folder.
I agree the material in general is to old, and to often useless.
My word about "you learn ..." was only meant to be encouragement because of the above. I know the frustation.

    Good luck

groove 3 has a Reaktor video out too. I do not know how good it is. I have liked their other videos.
