K2, Loading 8 instruments, 5GB, doesn't load more than 1.8GB, whats up?

I have 8 Instruments with a total of 5GB.
I can load each one separatly without problems.

But if I want to load them at the same time, Kontakt 2 loads the samples till 1.8GB and after them kind of loads them purged. But it's not really purged, they seem like loaded, but don't sound.

The same happens if I first load them all purged, and then reload them.

Kontakt just does not load more than 1.8 GB.

My memory is 1GB, my windows cache is set to 8GB.

What can I do?

Have you tried to load these huge instruments in DFD mode ?

 

Makes you wish there was a "memory and disk optimization" section someplace in the K2 manual, doesn't it?

Regarding your "windows cache" i was under the impression that "less is more" and that want to let K2 utilize the DFD more than have Windows thrashing and paging as well.

Can anyone else clarify?

There are problems with the DFD, NI is working on it.

 

Of course I load in DFD mode...

The windows cache is being used by Kontakt.
When loading samples in DFD mode (can be investigated in the task manager) kontakt first eats up alle the RAM and than starts to use the diskcache.

Since I want to load more than 5GB it seems to be necessairy to have such a huge cache,...

I bought this program only to be able to do exactly this. And now I can't have LiveActs coming where I need to be able to do this.

I'm going to change to gigastudio or halion.

Is there a way I can export or convert the programs, since the other tools are not able to read kontakt2 yet...?
