Try this - drag everything that's on the drive NI supplies to your computer's main drive, disconnect the NI drive, and install from your main drive. Windows can sometimes get finicky. Also don't forget to turn off any anti-virus software and do the install from an Administrator account. Turn off UAC in Windows as well. The NI drive is a USB drive and sometimes USB ports on a Windows machine can be set to turn off - make sure that isn't happening.

hmm i did everything like u`ve said, still same problem.. the "Disk not found..." window keeps spamming when the instaler has started.

same plm with my laptop win7, lol
Think that the NI drive should have more than 217.562.796.032 bytes, someone told me having like 241 688 842 240 Bytes on his NI drive, so...

    Thx tho

The amount of data found on the NI drive should not prompt the error message you found - it would put up a different error message. Once again - did you drag the all content on the NI drive to your system drive and install from there? Being Windoze is as finicky as it is do a complete uninstall of previous NI installs, delete any remaining folders, go through the Registry and clean out remaining NI entries as best as you can, cold boot your computer, and THEN try re-installing everything.

Yes, previous NI were deleted(unistall every NI content), same on the registry for NI. after that i draged the whole NI content to my system drive, disconnected NI drive and tried to install(after reboot) on system but still same problem.

One last possibility - I wonder if the drives and the info on them are different for the Windows and Mac versions? Don't even know if that's the problem but just throwing that out for thought. This is definitely baffling for sure. I've been around both operating systems for ages (I go back to when all there was just DOS on pre-Windows machines and System 6 on Apple machines).

Hopefully you didn't get a corrupted drive from NI.

Something that just occurred to me you can try - instead of trying to install everything on the drive see if you can install just one program. Something relatively simple like Guitar Rig. Something that doesn't need samples. That would at least tell if the drive itself is okay and that maybe it's just a single file. If that works then try other programs. There might be just one piece of data or program that is messing things up. Don't laugh - it can happen. In a program that installs a bunch of stuff if you get just one little thing that is messed up that can and will interfere with the install.

hm i gotta tell u that i don´t even have these files i want to install for a single program. there are just files that gets u into editor or Word or something. I checked everywhere for these instal setup file, but there´s just "K9U Setup PC" than can install the whole prgram, other install setups than that doesn´t exist on NI drive..(same on Mac order).

    Thx though

It wouldn't be separate files as such but separate entities in the master file. When the install screen comes up I would think you would have options on what you want to install (look under custom install or whatever NI is calling it these days) and select something like FM8 or Guitar Rig. That's assuming you can even get that far in the install.

Are you SURE you're installing as an administrator? And turned off any anit-virus and UAC?

So, i turned everything off and picked just one plugin like Absynth 5 on that install wizard list but no success. Than tried turned all the plugins off and started with the whole Library, it did install the first Battery 4 Factory Library, after that it starts to install the next like Kontakt Library but the message appears "Disk not found" -.- ..

I went install other Library content like Reaktor Library, same result.
No glue, it did only this Battery 4 Library but no a single plugin application works for install.

Yep, UAC and Anti-virus were off and did as an administrator.

    This is really frustrating

Sad to say it looks like you have a corrupt drive from NI or the data itself on it is corrupt. Looks like you're going to have to raise a support ticket with them. Hopefully other people aren't having these problems.

Friday? Remember that some companies weren't open on Friday. In the Christian world that's Good Friday and a lot of companies close on that day (and it's just Monday).

Talking to a friend on another forum and he said he's seen that some people have had success by taking the drive out of the case NI sends it in and either putting it another enclosure or as an internal drive inside a desktop computer. Apparently the problem is not in the drive mechanics or data itself but the support circuitry in the enclosure. Most external drives are nothing more than someone else's actual generic drive combined with an enclosure and support electronics from another party. And those drives inside are the same drive you'd have as an internal drive but smaller in capacity in this case. They all have the same sata connector on the inside when you get down to it.

I would not recommend taking the hard drive out of its enclosure. I am certain that NI would consider the warranty invalid.

The best solution is to contact (I would suggest calling) NI, determining the drive is defective, then getting a replacement drive.

It's not so much the drive that's bad but the support electronics around it. That's why taking the drive out of the case and putting it in either another case or as an internal drive in a desktop computer makes it work for people. I don't really know that there is any kind of warranty on this - at least not that I've seen explicitly stated on NI's site.

I started a thread elsewhere about a defective drive where I couldn't access the USB connector in the HD.

We must be part of the 1% failure rate from the HD manufacturer.

Looks like I shouldn't be hopeful for a quick replacement drive.
