Keep Battery 4 Cell Outputs Between Kits?

I have a complicated drum setup that I use in Ableton and I use the "Output>Direct Out..." feature (right-click on the cell) of the Battery 4 cells/pads to route them.

However, if I switch to a different "kit" in Battery, I loose all my outputs. I want the outputs to remain in their same place in the grid but allow me to use various kits.... :S

most settings (including cell outputs) are stored with the kit. so yes every time you load a kit, it will use the outputs that was saved with the kit.

best you can do is set the outputs in a blank kit. at least when you load battery or make a new kit, the outputs will be how you want them.

hmm. how silly. seems like there should be a preference to keep your routing outputs in the same spots....

This needs to be implemented next update. Same issue with Maschine. Really, one should be able to lock output settings.

I think this should be a top priority in the next update. I may add it to the feature suggestion area. I didn't see an existing request.

I was just going to ask this. When I delete a cell it deletes the routing! WTF is that!? Is there anyway that I can remove the sample but always keep the routing?

Is there meanwhile a way to lock the cell outputs?
This would be useful when moving a sample from one cell to another.
Currently the output will be copied as well.

This should really be implemented.... I should be able to set 'master' output channels that stay the same as I switch through patches. Any idea if this is ever going to be implemented?

Even If you move samples the Output will be copied as well. There should be an option to lock the output to the Cell rather than to the Sample.
As it is at the moment, rearranging samples is just pain.

YES! And bring back the output selector right under the volume fader! Such a pain to have to dig through the menu to assign output, especially when the output gets deleted and moved when arranging samples. Battery 4 has some quirks that are driving me nuts after upgrading...

    I second this!
I make complicated 64 pad setups in Ableton with different types of instruments routed to different external outs for processing. I’d love an option to uncheck “routing” when loading a kit, just like with the newer versions of Maschine.

+1. I do the same in Ableton and don't want to see a Battery 5 without this!

Is this about routing kit pieces to particular audio/aux outputs in your DAW? If so, I was just scanning the manual for how to do this. +1 if there's no ability to save an audio routing template.

I'm always looking for more drum sounds and had been neglecting Battery until, well, I haven't used it yet. But this was one of my main concerns, how & if. If someone could direct me to pages or terminology (Cells is new to me) in the manual, I'd appreciate it. I'm looking for:

    Kit Piece Audio Routing
Kit Piece Key/Pad Mapping (and can a mapping presets be saved and applied to kits similar to what I believe folks are asking for with audio routing)

    Thanks!

I am literally trying to do this right now. Then i find out it can't be done. So I would have to edit every single kit and then save it. What a let down. Fix thsi NI. Make your existing products function better please. I may have to get another drum machine that can do this, just to save the enormous amount of time this wastes.

Still waiting for this after so many years. I have my routing template set up in my DAW so it's not too bad, but if I'm loading up any unsaved kit it's literally 16 extra steps (right click a pad, select the output) to get it set up. I would love to see a "lock routing" button in the next iteration.

Just now starting to use Battery, this is what I've settled on. Not the worst thing in the world being new to it, just starting to create kits. But yeah, if you like some of the existing kits, there's work to do. For now, I'm just duplicating some of my top MPC drum programs, occasionally grabbing a drum from the included Expansions.

But yeah, address this NI. Not sure how distant Battery programming is from Kontakt, but the ability to save over NKIs is there. Bring it over.

Yeah it's disappointing. I liked the SOUNDS and pre-made kits in Battery but not all the hassle of routing everything.

Not sure if you use any of the Komplete Expansions (which have included Battery kits for a couple years now), but we actually just released an app that lets you use these NI expansions in Ableton (it turns them into ready-to-load presets). Works with the Maschine factory library also, if you own one of those.
    https://www.kit-maker.com/make-kits-for-ableton-live/

If you don't use Ableton, it also has a Numbered Files option that makes it pretty quick to load them in Logic, Reason, Bitwig, Geist2, Groove Agent SE 5 etc.
    https://www.kit-maker.com/make-kits-with-numbered-files/

Not a solution for routing Battery, but for me it got my main goal achieved which was to get all these kits into my DAW. The kits are the 16 pad kits originally marketed for Maschine, so they arent as large as the Battery kits, but you can see if that interests you if you are mainly using Battery for the sounds like I was.
