having key detection in the programme would make the workflow for importing new tunes so much quicker ... I currently use MixedInKey or VDJ to detect the key (the only reason I still keep my copy of vdj, as it seems more reliable at key detection than MIK), then write it to the song's tag so that Traktor can then display it, But it adds at least a couple of minutes to the workflow for each song and is incredibly tedious when you are importing dozens of tunes at a time. How much easier if Traktor would auto-detect it when it analyses the tune.

Come on NI, the people have spoken!

I would like to see it implemented just to get something RELIABLE and CONSISTANT. I have paid for the Mixed in Key license in windows, and was POd when I switched to a mac and found out I could no longer use it. On top of that, the program caused problems with writing over certain tags, or doing a crappy job at customizing certain tagging situations... I used Rapid Evolution for a while, but it crashed WAY too much. I've now donated to the guy who runs Trainspotter2 to unlock unlimited key detection -- it is very fast, but I find that having my keys detected using these 3 softwares, my keys are ugly.

I would love to be able to use a single, reliable, stable, useful tool in the same program I use for mixing beats.

Well maybe your doin it wrong, cause key mixing of real talent will really make the difference between a newb and a professional dj.

Key mixing = taking the listner for a jorney
Traditional mixing = Roller couster ride

I dont feel the need of keymix everytime, but when i do and it fits alltogether, nothing can beat the feeling i get inside.

    Keydetection please!

@ttilberd - I would actually reanalyse ALL your tracks with Trainspotter. These programs tend to be more accurate to themselves than each other.

As a matter of fact, if you own Mixed in key, there is a possibility to "tag" the mp3 files with both Key and BPM, and it will then show up in the traktor key - Bpm Browser window, thats the only way to have keys in traktor for the time beeing, to implement an autokey feature will take time, i think the programers have much to think about everything else.Tsi Editor or at least give us the feature to expand current window, VST compability and increasing the fx library among other things that we the users demand or humble request

    Cheers

    Another feature I won't need.
First rule of mixing, use your ears.
If you can't hear that the tunes don't match, then you shouldn't be mixing at all.
Music is maths, but it's also feelings, a strict in key mix is easy to listen, for sure, but it quickly becomes dull and boring, don't be afraid to mess around and surprise the audience, don't be a robot.
Besides, if you stick to mixing in key with the results of your key analyzer, who's building the set? you or the software?
Sure a software can beatmatch the tunes for you, and also maybe key match them for you, but in the end, it's only you who should choose wich tracks to play together and that's the most important thing, don't let a software do that choice for you or you'll fail, because you can have tunes beatmatched and key matched, that don't work together. But that is just a matter of feeling and software has no feelings.

key detection is still a good option to have, then you decide what to do with it.
