I very much doubt it. NI are completely ignorant to it.

i can't say for sure because i changed my behaviour to avoid the overwriting as much i could, for example avoiding re-adding tracks from the itunes node to the collection, etc.

i also switched from using key text to just using key. my initial main concern for using key text, was that according to several reports, MIK was more accurate than traktor and that's why i wanted it to perform the analysis. but as i saw that MIK was populating traktor's key field as well, with its own result, but in the same "language" as traktor, i switched to it in order to be able to make searches with it (selecting the specific "key" field in the search, of course), because then, traktor will show me tracks in the related keys as well, which does not happen when searching by key text.

in summary... once again, it had to be me changing my workflow in order to adapt to the software. i mean, in order to use the key analysis results properly and safely, i've had to sacrifice re-adding whole playlists from itunes because of the peril it represented (which adds up quite an amount of time to keep them up to date as you may imagine, so i basically have sacrificed keeping them updated), and i've had to give up using the well known camelot key as i had been doing for years, because its use was somewhat castrated in traktor since they offered their own (inexact) key analysis feature.

all i can say, is that this way i don't see the overwrite happening, it may be happening, but i don't care anymore.

PS: not completely related to this issue, but somehow... remember that 'feature' we had, the hability to lookup tracks using a combination of key and tempo in the search field with "all" selected... for example, let's say you looked up for "8m 120" and the results were related to 8m (8d, 7m, 9m, etc.) and around 120 bpm... well, this is still broken.

It’s literally just started doing this to me out of the blue in 2.11.12.11 on a MacBook Pro running El Capitan. I haven’t changed my settings in years and I thought it was just the last two sets where I could see it happening in real time, but it looks like it’s screwed half of my collection.

I’ve put in an extensive ticket with the support people, whether or not that will help. I notice there are threads going back to 2015 about this. It’s summer of 2021 now, and I’m looking to upgrade my entire setup. It would be really nice I’ve this doesn’t happen with Traktor Pro 3.

I’ve had it coexisting happily with MixedInKey for many years.

It does happen with 3. It randomly started happening for me in 2 at some point (after not doing it for years), and kept happening when I upgraded.

    It’s infuriating.

Great. I've just spent 15 minutes copying and pasting the full contents of my discussion with NI about this, only to have this error:

    Let's try individual posts.

The following was my complaint in May 2021 and below their response:

First,* please summarize your issue in one sentence* (i.e. a subject line).

In the next step we will ask you for a more detailed description.

Key Text field Overwrite - previously MixedInKey

    ### Now, *please describe the issue you are having in detail, so that we can best help you* - then hit "ENTER" to continue:

Key Text field has been systematically overwritten on every tune I played in my last two sets. Have no changed settings. Very solid workflow coming via MixedInKey for years. It's completely overwritten the Key Text field as I went and is quite weirding me out. I have a radio show to don't want to lose more data. Especially worried if this is not fixed for Tratkor Pro 3, as I was planning to upgrade, and am indeed pretty much buying an entire new LAPTOP just to be able to upgrade my OS to do that (it's a Macbook 2009; was inevitable). This has happened intermittently before but I thought it might be my imagination. I notice now there are threads on the forum going back to 2015 about the same basic problem. I really don't want to have to abandon the platform, but I'm at a point of basically wanting to upgrade all of my kit anyway. Please help. It's taken a lot of pain and effort to get my music collection set up the way I like it. Viehlen Danke fuer Ihre Verstaendtnis. Regards, Michael.

Nah. I'm trying to post their response and it tells me it "contains spam-like material". Soddit then.

Just to say I feel everyone's pain in this thread. This bug is just infuriating.

My own work around, is to copy the Mixed in Key found key to a different tag in iTunes. I use Grouping.

At least then, when Traktor does over-write the Initial Key tag, I have a record of the MiK key in the .mp3 file itself.
