Why is there no knob to change the key?

I'm sure this could easily be fixed by releasing a mapping that maps key to shift+gain knob.

As the gain knobs are rotary anyway it wont matter which position there in, in terms of offset.

Wel, you can make a User Mapping for it?

Just create a new S4 user device in the controller manager.
Map the SHIFT key to Modifier 1.
Map the gain knobs to the key functions and set Modifier 1 as a criteria.

    Did you see this already?

That works for setting the key, but it will change the GAIN as well. You cannot disable the Gain change as it is executed no matter if SHIFT is pressed or not

Unfortunately I use the tempo faders and offset buttons quite a lot, so that user mapping wont work for me, thanks though.

Also tried making a user mapping but as rainerh said, it also controls the gain.

Damn, all I want is the gain knobs to perform as key and key reset controls when shift is used, this seems to be impossible right now...

    Thanks anyway guys.

I think NI reallly needs to let us map the unmapped parts like shift and the gain knob (without changing the gain). I mean what is really the point of restricting those? seriously. Just allow us to change the mapping if we want to.
