Keyboard Map Load Sample Decks from Other Currently Playing Deck?

    I use Traktor Pro 2 with a single Kontrol X1. Being able to drag a currently playing track title into a sample deck slot and have it play is awesome. Is there a keyboard shortcut to accomplish that?

    I want to hit a key and have it grab whatever is playing in Deck A and have it start playing a loop in Deck C Sample Slot 1. Is this possible? I've read the manual, and tried various keyboard shortcut mappings, but can't seem to figure out the correct one. Cheers

    Surely this must be possible?

    I've been trying to execute this today too, but with an external MIDI control (Korg NanoKontorol). Popping the Manual open for Traktor 2, in the back under the section 'Assignable Midi Controls' 20.1.6 discuss the sample deck midi functions that are accesible. The Third one list list is called 'Load From Deck' which 'Loads a sample from the deck in focus'. Going into Traktor Preferences in the Controller mappings, and you can add this to whatever midi/keyboard control you want to whichever sample deck/slot you want.

    When you go to execute the 'Load From Deck', I get a warning stating, 'Warning: Deck needs a track to copy to sample slot'

    It fails where I have Deck A or B playing say an 8 beat loop and either deck is focused. I push my button assigned to copy that loop into the sample slot, but get the warning every time. I think this may be a bug, unless I'm not setting it up right.

    I just tried doing this with 'Copying from Loop Recorder' and it works fine. It's just from the Decks as source where it's not copying down into a sample slot.

    Why can't NI come out with a video to map the Kontrol X1 to sample deck on how to load to a sample deck, volume control and filter control. Instead of we going around asking people how to do this and that. Just like how Sonic Academy did a video on how to use the Kontrol X1, NI should do the same on how to use 1 if not 2 Kontrol X1 with PRO2.

    Thank U

    I've manage to map an X1 to Load From Deck. However, you can't load from the focus deck. You have to specify in the controller mapping which deck you are loading from in the button options. eg. Set to value = Deck A.

    I've used a modifier and duplicated the mapping so that I can load from multiple decks.

    Ideally there should be another value in the list for Focus Deck! Maybe this should go in as a request to NI.

    Lymedo, I agree with you. NI should come out with some mappings or even videos to support Kontrol X1 for PRO2 sample decks and how to use it. Now we have to do trial and error and search the internet to find it from someone.

    Ill make a feature request.
    Would be nice thing.

    Made a modifier mapping to reach that goal now.

    My Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor 2.0.3\Settings\Default Settings\Controller\Native Instruments

    => _02 - Controller - Native Instruments - X1 Addon Mapping.tsi

    there is also documentation for that mapping:

    Programs\Native Instruments\Traktor 2\Documentation\Controller Mappings\Native Instruments

    => Native Instruments - Traktor Kontrol X1 - Sample Decks.pdf

    Hi - Not sure if this is a dead thread -> I kept looking for the same solution myself and figured this out - to load to Deck C Slot 1 from Deck A

    Controller Manager > Add In > Sample Decks > Load from Deck > Assignment Deck 3 Slot 1 > Set to Value - Deck A

    Modifier 1 - Deck Play A - 1 (On)
    Modifier 2 - Is In Active Loop - 1 (On)

    Hope this helps! ;)
