Too bad tightening them didn't help. Those vibrations I didn't have on the two units I got. You would need a replacement I'm afraid.

I have waited over two months for a properly working unit.

Hope we both will get proper units as soon as possible.

It's a real pain, quite disappointing for what's supposed to be a premium keyboard.

Fortunately the retailer agrees that my video does show an issue - though not sure if they'd be willing to send me a 3rd one, they'd probably refund me & I'd have to get it direct from NI.

Or I can go through the NI return process - I've heard though that NI sometimes send warranty replacement "new" items with weird things like serial number missing etc. which puts me off a bit.

Things sitting on top of your keyboard can make a lot of rattling and clicking sounds. My computer keyboard and rollerball mouse rattled away making me think that it was the keyboard, which it actually did sound like. I thought I was going to be sending mine back, I've got the s88, but a little investigating found the noise was coming from somewhere else.
Just a heads-up to check for anyone that hears strange sounds before they go sending their keyboard back.

I did think of that actually - although I don't keep anything on mine, I wondered if it was caused by the keyboard trolley stand it's on.

The video I posted shows the rattling with the keyboard on a carpeted floor.

So further to the above, I came across a video yesterday on YouTube (Jake Borg - "Komplete Kontrol MK2 - Pianist's One Year Review"?). It's a pretty damning review of the S61 Mk2, with multiple issues described & shown. I've only had keybed/rattle noise issues but the issue he demonstrates at 4:00 (loud vibrating noise from right hand side casing) is identical to what I experienced on my 2nd one. My 1st didn't do that.

I'm now thinking about the NI A61 - obviously a lot less featured than the S61, but the reviews are generally pretty good, with criticisms only really when comparing it to the S61. It would involve looking at the PC screen a lot more for sound surfing & instrument tweaking but that's not a massive issue for me. As a computer musician/producer I do expect that though...!

Gonna sit on my hands for a bit - the retailer has already collected the 2nd faulty unit, & for obvious reasons are not in a hurry to send me a 3rd! It's a pretty poor show for NI that a reason for buying another piece of NI hardware (A61) that is seen as a lower model is that there is less to go wrong with it...!

I have a new S61 MKII that has a C1 key with a clicking sound. It sounds like something forgotten under the key. After hitting the key a couple of times or using aftertouch the click dissappears but when I don't play the key for a while, it comes back.

Also I think NI sold me a very special edition with mismatched displays because they resist not to replace the product.

Too many faults and weak quality control for this price.

Thought this maybe of interest, its a tear down video I found on you tube, I will be attempting this re-grease of the keys, once I find out what type of grease to use..

    That's a shame.

I gave up in the end & got myself an Arturia KeyLab 61 Mk2. Ironically I used to own one (49 keys) & sold it to get an S61 Mk2 but gravitated back towards it! Much better build quality & integrates well with Komplete Kontrol via MIDI/CC mapping & my DAW (Cubase), importantly letting me control the Master Fader (which the S61's mixer control couldn't do).

Actually I have Maschine and A49 working without any issues but this time I came across a defective product.

After the day I bought the unit, NI changed the main distributor in my country and they left me to deal with the stuation.

I will have to find a solution to fix the problem myself and I wish I had bought something else.

Have you tried contacting NI Support directly using the 'faulty hardware' link on the website? I'd have thought that legally NI have to repair/replace the unit as it's still within manufacturer warranty. With my issues NI Support in fairness to them were very good.

Yes I did that, I wrote to them after the day I bought the product.I don't want a repair option for a new product.I want a replacement because I know the service they will send the product in my country and this will be a long process. They will keep the unit for more than two weeks and they will report everything is normal.Tried and tested.

I can not send the product to NI directly because of the high taxes in my country(than I will have to pay another keyboard price for the shipment). Also the old distributor does not have any more S61 in their stock.Support is giving the same answers to my requests.

I will try a couple of things to get rid of this defective keyboard because maybe the click will go away by time but the two color screen gets on my nerves.

I'm a unhappy customer for now.

That's not great. Can you not return it to the retailer for a refund? Or perhaps raise a dispute with your credit card provider (assuming you used a credit card)? I see you're in Turkey - I don't know anything about consumer law in Turkey but you shouldn't have to accept a faulty product &/or be liable for extra costs.

According to customer rights ,I can replace the unit with the new distributor.Bu it seems they won't do that.

Maybe refund is a good option to end this unplesant period.

Take the refund,, I will never buy another Keyboard from Native instruments, they seem to last 8 months before the keys become noisy not a good product, 0 quality control.. So unhappy on my second replacement now, and its now worse than the one i sent back.. Both started to get noisy at the 8 month mark..

I have the same issue with the S88. It is right beside me now and I am discovering more key noise all the time. NI won't provide info to the retailor on how to fix it. It is now out of warranty. Very disappointed in the lack of quality. Right beside the S88 is a 20 year old Yamaha P120 and, although there is some key noise, it is consistent across all 88 keys and not distracting.
