    Hey all:

Small problem: The free library from NI, Kinetic Treats, won't load in Kontakt for me. It appears as a library, but when I click on an instrument, it says: Your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file.

Native Access says I have version 5.6.5 (which I believe is up-to-date). In any case, there's nothing to update for Kontakt in Native Access.

Clearly, given that it's free, it's not a big deal...just thought I'd give it another chance before deleting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I think I found the problem: Service Center says I have version 5.6.5.13...but when I click on the Kontakt logo, it says I have version 5.5.2.880. Service Center/Native Access doesn't offer me an option to update...any suggestions? Thanks!

Check Service Center > Overview tab > Kontakt and see if anything appears in red there. If it does, follow the steps to fix it.

Nope, nothing red...green lights all the way down. Something's definitely wrong...I opened up a support request with NI...maybe they can help.

    Thanks for the reply...much appreciated!

Is the problem also in Kontakt standalone, or only with the plugin version (inside a DAW)?
Because if the problem is only with the plugin version it's probably the case that the updated plugin was installed to a different default folder (which is not used by your DAW). So compare the plugin paths in Service Center -> Overview Tab and in your DAW.

Otherwise you can check and download updates manually from here (after you login with your account):

Yes, this looks like the problem...thanks solger! Unfortunately I don't know how to check the 'plug in path' for Reaper (my DAW). And once I find that path, I don't know how to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

    Solved!

Thanks again Solger...I updated manually (per your link) to the folder scanned by Reaper...upon re-opening, Reaper re-scanned and found the update...I'm in business.

I appreciate your help...you saved me a ton of pain...thanks again!
