Solved KK S88 MKII Availability

Hi. I want to buy a KK S88 MkII, but it looks like they are back ordered everywhere in the US. Does anyone have an idea when they will be available? If/when an MKIII will be available?

Contact NI Support, they would be the best source for that answer. Due to Covid alot of business has completely stopped unfortunately. You have to remember alot of these companies use other countries for their manufacturing. This may become an issue,depending on how these countries politics pan out.

 

I was told by a Sweetwater sales engineer that my S88 would arrive early September.

 

This sounds about right. I'm not sure they would have an exact date available but it looks like it should be beginning/mid of September

I got tired of waiting, so last Saturday I bought a returned S61 from Guitar Center. Being a return, the serial number was already registered. However, NI promised to reset the registration so that I could register the keyboard. But it's been almost a week and no response from NI. So I'm returning the s61.

Some good news... Although I could not find any S88's from a retailer, I just found out that NI has some in stock. So I just ordered one from their corporate sales site. Note that I rechecked all the major retailers and all show that the S88's are back ordered. Such is life.

Just be cautious if you are in another country from where NI ships (such as I am in Australia) as custom import costs can kill you. Mainly a warning for others. I ordered Komplete 8 Ultimate years ago before they offered digital downloads and it cost me $160 to get my item out of customs. Last time I purchase direct and now always go through a local supplier if it is a physical product, also makes returns and warranty claims way more efficient.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on one's viewpoint ) I live in the US about 1000 miles north of their warehouse. Shipping is free, I hope to get it next week sometime.

Anyone would think it's a popular product line

 

I talked to a Guitar Center rep when I ordered my S88 MK2, and she had a bit of a time finding me one. Sweetwater seemed to be in stock at the time, but I get a nice GC discount through my work.

She eventually found me one that had never been used but for some reason was missing the power supply. I already had a PS from my MK3 that I didn’t need, so I took it and got it for about 25% off. Just arrived today, and she’s a beauty!
