I wanted to try to update firmware. Downloaded it. It keeps saying, "Connect KKS controller and rescan". I connected and disconnected it several times, nothing happens- it does not see it. But Complete Kontrol software recognizes it. This is so wrong! It been like 3 hours and I can not make this thing work.

    I am on Windows 10.

I am reposting my reply to the thread you referred me to as it marked as soled and nobody will read it there.

I was referred to this thread from my own, so I will post here since you all already have a fix and I still don't understand how to do it.

First of all- I did not have a chance to install Complete Kontrol- it was installed some how by I think Complete Ultimate 10. So, yes, it was installed before I connected the controller as I did not have controller at that time.

There was driver update in the Service center, I installed that, while my controller was connected. But I don't see why this would make any difference. Not trying to be smart- if we knew for sure- this IS what the problem is... then- how would I uninstall the driver? This is nuts. I don't have time for this. Why cant it be plug and play?

Now I can not update the firmware. I downloaded it, but it would not recognize the controller- it keeps saying, Please, connect controller and rescan", and nothing happens. I did try to turn it on and off and on and off. Plug and unplug.

So you recommend to download firmware update to another computer and connect Kontrol to it and update firmware? And make sure I download firmware first? I do not want to make it work on another computer and then still have the same problem on my music computer.

Do I have to install Select if I have Complete 10? (ok, silly question- I know I don't have to, but where is the driver coming from?). In my case, it was in the Service center. So do I need to uninstall it now because it was installing while Kontrol was connected? Ugh- this is such a waist of time! Than you.

In my case Kontrol didn't come with Komplete ... I had to download and install it separately, but that was in December 2014.

At that time, the driver could be installed separately or with Kontrol, which also installs the driver.

It might be, that you have driver issues due to the firmware being not up to date. As it seems, the current firmware updater has issues on Windows, as it worked fine for me on OSX.

I myself started on Windows 7, but switched over to Mac in last April.

To avoid waiting for NI to fix the firmware issue, maybe PM the guys in the other thread, who were able to find a workaround.
