Think people are confusing Komplete Kontrol (which is a host not a wrapper, the same as Maschine) with NKS here

Just seen that Spitfire is a supporter of the new format. Makes the 88 keyboard even more tempting (especially as I just got my pre-order download link for the new Albion). ;)

Looking at the weight of the S88 (14.4 kg) it's probably the FATAR TP100LR.

So true, it feels like Maschine has become the ugly stepchild of this company sometimes.

I mean for the most part, Maschine is a great product and doesn't require much more, but still misses the mark on a number of features that we have all requested in the past and development of their hardware/software happens so sparsely that it tends to get annoying to have to wait for them to "get around" to making changes.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what the new year has to bring for us, or if the rumors are true, a couple more weeks.

Thanks. Dang, had some hope for the TP40WOOD. Oh well... have to test play it anyways before buying.

From the time NI made that 'left brained - right brained' recruitment campaign I always thought that they have 1 team for each of their main product Lines. Komplete, Maschine and Traktor (they were specifically hiring for Maschine at some point). Even the drum synths are not being developed by the whole Maschine team , just two people. Do you guys really think they all take breaks to focus on a specific product for each release? o_O

Don't think one product's development would hinder another's that much. Would be real dumb.. waist of efficiency and resources

... I haven't found this on the NI page, but CDM mentions custom control mappings.

    http://createdigitalmusic.com/2015/10/komplete-kontrol-from-ni-gets-more-control-88-key-keyboard/

If it would really allow custom mappings the most important question for me will be, if these mappings will be available globally on a plug-in level or only on a per preset basis (right now it's just for one preset at a time, which is the most stupid thing ever)...

custom mappings is something else i wanna know how it deals with vst plugs or libraries that have not used the nks standard; can it auto detect presets and controls?

Probably nothing. From what has been said in the marketing, it looks like it all has to be set up by the developers of the products.

Yes, same as Maschine does currently. 1.5 brings KK the same 3rd party single plugin instrument support. In addition, NKS brings functionality that you see with NI plugins. Mainly browser integration with images and presets on the factory tab. Also preset parameter maps and Light Guide stuff for those that chose to use it. Just giving 3rd party devs the ability to build out plugins and presets the same way the NI stuff is.

...so again, the custom mapping is saved with the preset? And if I'd open another preset (from another sound designer, for instance), that mapping would be gone?

Works the same way it does currently in Maschine AFAIK. Can't go into anymore specifics about NKS though.

...thank you for clearing that up. I really, really, really, really hope you're last sentence means that not everything about NKS hasn't been revealed, yet. But this whole thing has some nerve-wracking potential. I posted this question on KVR, but I guess, I really have to wait... :(
