anyone have ultimate, and saved all of the contents on their main internal ssd drive where the os and apps are held??

is there a downside to that?

There is a downside. Your OS is constantly doing random reads and writes and occasionally indexing your files in the background. This will affect the audio buffer performance as it tries to read sample data from your SSD. While SSDs are fast, you don't want to abuse them. Sure you can run a midi session with low track-count. But when you have a lot of kontakt instruments running, you will affect system performance. I use external SSDs.
