    Hello

I had a few day of problems getting the Komplete 12 Collectors Edition software on my PC (still downloading)

TL;DR: Where are those hard drives for with almost 1TB of data in the Komplete 12 boxes? To only install Native Access?

I purchased Komplete 12 Ultimate CE (which came in 3 parts: select + komplete upgrade + ultimate CE upgrade) so I got 2 boxes (Select was only download) with each an external hard drive.

First the drives did not work on my main PC, I tried the suggested steps on the website (try other USB ports, ...) but could not get it to work.
My laptop recognised them perfect but has a very small SSD.
Since I didn't had an external hard drive to copy and transfer the drives data I had to do this over my network, which took about 24 hours for rougly 750GB to transfer.

After I finally got the Komplete drives on my main PC I found out that I had to download all the software from the internet.
    Uhm 750GB to download????

So where are those hard drives for with almost 1TB of data on both? To only install Native Access?
I checked the "data" folder of these and there are ISO files which contain the music libraries I guess? Why can't I install these and if an update is required update the files?

I could not find an answer for this question, did I do something wrong?
My internet provider may be very unhappy with me. I recently upgraded to fair use policy meaning in theorie unlimited download, although it is not fast. Recently my limit was 100GB a month, it would take me more than a year (since I also download other stuff). This is impossible!

Thanks, I am a bit worried I missed some goodies on the hard drives...

The drives have the install data but its hidden, if i remember right. I have installed the ultimate editions for many years without issue. Typically if the drive does not work with one pc, but works with another, clearly an issue with the usb on the machine where drives do not work. The reason is the portable small drives need a certain amount of power to work and some usb ports do not provide enough power, so drive will not work.

Native Access uses the ISOs on the hard drive, but you must launch the installer on the hard drive, not a pre installed version on your pc. I think this is mentioned in the docs.

    Hope that helped.

Can it help with a powered USB hub?

It should. Most modern USB hubs may even have two ports; regular USB2 style voltage, and then a 'powered port' such as charging a modern high end phone. I think the Komplete hard drive 2 years ago had a fancy 2-port USB cable to draw power from 2 USB2 ports for this issue. Basically some older PCS have funky power on USB ports. e.g., back port might have power, front port might not have so much. This used to be an issue with the larger USB sticks too -- some computers could not power the larger capacity USB sticks. Same kind of issue.

    Computer?
    OS?
Do you get a red error message in NA, and if so, which one?
