In order to keep my Applications folder (Mac) from getting cluttered, I decided to install Komplete 5 and Kore 2 to the following location:

    Music HD\Audio Applications\Native Instruments\
    Absynth 4
    Akoustik Piano
    B4 II
    Battery 3
    Elektrik Piano 1.5
    FM8
    Guitar Rig 3
    Komplete 5
    Kontakt 3
    Kore
    Kore 2
    Massive
Native Instruments Sample Library\Komplete 5 Samples and \Kore 2 Samples
    Pro-53
    Reaktor 5
    Service Center
    Shared Content

However, files are still being installed to the Applications folder and Documents.

Here is what is being installed in Applications:

    01 - Acoustic Kits (kt3 files)
    02 - Production Kits (kt3 files)
    03 - Percussion Kits (kt3 files)
    04 - Electronic Kits (kt3 files)
    05 - Synthetic Kits (kt3 files)
    06 - Special Kits (kt3 files)
07 - Battery 3 Kits (and subsequent folders with kt3 files)
08 - Battery 2 Kits (and subsequent folders with wav files)
    AkoustikPiano_info.nkx
Default (and various nkm, nki, nkb, and wav files)
    Elektrik Piano 1.5_info.nkx
    ElektrikPiano_Lib_part1.nkc
    ElektrikPiano_Lib_part2.nkc
    ElektrikPiano_Lib_part3.nkc
Instruments 1.5 (and subsequent sub folders filled with nki files)
Performances 1.5 (and subsequent nkb files)
    Presets (and subsequent nki files)
Template Kits (and subsequent kt3 files)

Here is what is being installed in Documents\Native Instruments:
    Absynth 4 (pls file)
    FM8 (pls file)
Guitar Rig 3 (tle, Sound Banks folder [bnk and pm files], and Temp folder)
Kontakt 3 (presets folder with subsequent effects, filter, modulator scripts, and other types of folders)
    Massive (pls file)
Shared Content (Controller Pages, Midi Files, and Sounds folder)

Also, "Massive" and "Massive 1.1" sounds are not producing any sound when being played from the standalone version of Kore 2. And some sounds such as "Steel Mill - True Strike Tension" have "Samples Missing."

I've tried to get this whole Komplete 5 and Kore 2 sound and library situation sorted for the last day and half, but with mixed results. I already downloaded updates, ran the service center, and Komplete 5 library updater. What else can I do to get things sorted here? :S

The stuff's being installed in the Applications folder because that's the library defaults. If you want to move the libraries, do so. Then, open the affected apps as standalones and change the path to the library in their options.

The documents thing's for cross platform compatibility as far as installers go; any user editable content goes into a documents folder. You can change the shared content/sounds folder location (make sure you change the paths in the standalones that use that location's options).

What other sounds are you getting missing samples with? From what you've said, those should be working. A rescan/rebuild might be in order here.

As far as the Massive sounds not making any sounds, make sure you've updated Massive to the latest version (1.1.3) and run it as a standalone. While you've got it open as a standalone, rebuild your database from the options/browser page.

Once again, all NI plugins must be run as standalones and paths set/databases rebuilt before using them as plugins for the first time. This includes inside Kore as plugins.

    Thanks for the response ew.

    Here is an update:

1.) The files/folders in Applications were duplicates. Perhaps I somehow missed deleting them when I reinstalled Komplete 5 before.

2.) Massive is/has been up-to-date (1.1.3) and I've rebuilt the database several times, but I still can't get any sound from anything in the Massive or Massive 1.1 bank. However, Best of Massive, Massive Exp. Vol. 1, Massive Factory 1.0.1, Massive Factory 1.1, and Massive Factory Content are all working fine.

3.) Battery sounds in the banks Studio Drums, Synthetic Drums 1 and Synthetic Drums 2 are all missing samples when I attempt to load them inside the Kore 2 software.

So I'm not really sure where to go from here.

It sounds like those two Massive folders are duplicates- that shouldn't have happened.

Those Battery sounds are from additional extra cost content; unless you have the content, you won't have the sounds.

So what do you think I should do? Reinstall Massive? I checked the content of those banks and none of the sounds are the same. But since the bank names are so peculiar, perhaps something went wrong with the install.

I wonder why they are showing up in my library if they are from extra cost content.

Also, there is this sound "Steel Mill" from the True Strike Tension bank that is showing up and it is missing samples. I never downloaded anything from True Strike Tension, so I'm not sure why Kore is showing that in my bank.

Edit: The Massive 1.1 sounds that aren't playing are showing up as "<empty>" in the edit area.

Also, Urban Beats and Urban Arsenal are missing samples.

Ah- are they for the Reaktor ensemble Massive, and not Massive the synth? I'm betting they are, judging by what you say at the bottom...
You more than likely ran the Komplete sounds .ksd installer without unchecking those on the page which asked you what you wanted to install.
Did you install the Christmas compilation? If I remember, that was part of it.
See the top answer. It looks as if it's Massive the Reaktor groovebox, and not Massive the synth.

The sounds in the bank under "Massive" and "Massive 1.1" appear to be for the Reaktor ensemble Massive as they open with Reaktor in the Kore 2 edit area. Should they even be appearing in the Kore 2 software or make any sound (SEE EDIT BELOW)?

The sounds in the bank under "Massive Factory 1.0.1" and "Massive Factory 1.1" open with Massive in the Kore 2 edit area. Is there supposed to be a 1.0.1 and 1.1 folder? If not can I move the sounds from one folder to the other so that I only have one folder?

I may have done that, but I can't remember to be honest. I usually choose "easy install," when available. Is there any way I can remove sounds I don't have from showing up in my Kore 2 browser?

Yes, I did install the Christmas compilation. Still though, I wonder why that particular sound is showing up missing all those samples. Do you think it's just a messed up sound to begin with?

Yeah- they should. However, they should be appearing with the Reaktor sounds, and the ensemble shouldn't be coming up as empty. Set the path to your factory content in Reaktor's preferences; once again in standalone.
Here, they're all in one folder named Massive.
Go to your shared content/sounds folder and delete those folders. Then, start up Kore in standalone and do a full scan from the options/database page.
Nope- I think your install's messed up. I'd reinstall the compilation.

And Massive and Massive 1.1 (the Reaktor ensembles) need clock running. They don't need a step sequencer; the ensermbles have them built in.

The path to my factory content in Reaktor 5 is in "Music HD:Audio Applications:Native Instruments:Reaktor 5:Library:"

And what do you mean exactly "they should be appearing with the Reaktor sounds"?

There are no folders inside of the shared content/sounds folder.

Hm, well I can't seem to get them running for some reason without first loading a Step Sequencer.

    :(
I'd really like to get this whole thing sorted and avoid doing another time consuming and painful reinstall. I appreciate all the help though.

Just what I said. Select Factory Sounds in the browser; your NI plugins should be listed.
In your user folder? Maybe not. In the factory shared content/sounds? There should be a folder for each plugin.
Something's screwed with the install, then.
From the sounds of it, I'd reinstall. You've got too many issues happening to straighten out without doing so.

Alright, I suppose I'll just go through a reinstall later this evening.

Any suggestions? Which should I install first, etc? If you installed on a Mac, I'd like to do a similar install. That way if I have any problems again, you can help me a bit easier. :D I really hope this will be my last install.

    I'm not a Mac user-sorry.

What I'd do? Install Komplete and update to the latest versions. Run all of them in standalone and set paths/rebuild databases. Reboot.

Now install Kore. Update to the latest version. Run the Komplete .ksd installer (make sure to uncheck any content you don't have).

Finally, start Kore in standalone. Let it do the initial scan/build. Go to options/database and uncheck "hide unavailable sounds". Restart Kore. Done.

K, I just did everything to a T as stated above, and Urban Beats is still showing up and missing samples and I'm having the exact same problems with the Massive banks and whatnot. I'm ready to drive my head through the drywall now. I'm ready to just give up. :(

Any NI tech guys who can contact me and walk me through this via PM or phone.....try to find out what's going on here?

Edit: More Reaktor bank material is not working inside of Kore 2 after this newest install.

P.S. Thanks for trying to help ew.....much respect!

So I contacted Tech Support and this is what I got back:

"You have to install the "KoreSounds for products of KOMPLETE 4 and KOMPLETE 5"

    You can find it here:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=updates&L=1

Once downloaded/installed, open your KORE 2 preferences and do a "Full Scan"
    of your KORE DB.
    "

Now clearly I've done this several times already. I left Tech Support a link to this thread in my first email to them so that I wouldn't get the aforementioned response back. Isn't there any way to get somebody on a phone or chat system to get this sorted? This back and forth email thing is really slow and a bit aggravating. I replied back to the email I received early this morning stating that "I've already done this," but have yet to hear back from anybody. I don't think I've had this hard of a time installing any music production software ever. :(
