    Hi,
I've been trying to install Komplete 5 without luck.
Double clicking on "Komplete 5 Setup" program in the first Komplete 5 DVD (called "installation disk"), the installation setup program runs and arrives quite to the end of the first disk (the remaining time is only of 40 seconds) but it remains copying the "zerog.png" file (an icon) into the "Service Center\download\internal\icons" directory for mutch, mutch time. I've benn waiting for an hour but the setup was never ending.
At that point of the installation all the product and the plugin seems to be installed (but not the directories and the file of the libraries). If I kill the setup program at that point (I have nothing else to do), how can I proceed with the installation ? In K5 (instead of K4) I didn't find any documentation about installation procedure.
    Anyone can help me ?

    Thanks

having the exact same problem here. can anyone help me figure out how to get around this?

EDIT: i got around it by redoing the installation and chosing to install none of the programs. but the rest of the installation isn't going much smoother :( ( i think it's the quality of the discs or my drive is conking out)

its like christmas morning w/ and i cant get my presents open!

I have an open NI service ticket for a very similar issue. I am going to send a new request for info, but I am in the middle of trying something, so I will wait until monday to make contact with them. I was hoping to commiserate with other users in the meantime and hopefully get some advice:

    System
    Intel Core Duo 3.1 GHZ
    Intel MOBO
    4G RAM
    (1) 80G IDE system drive- (1) 1TB SATA music drive
    Sonar 7 PE
    Windows XP SP3
Novation Xstation with builtin soundcard via ASIO
    Native Instruments Komplete 5 Bundle

    History
-Bought NI Komplete 5 at my local Guitar Center
-realized my pc was utter bollocks and upgraded to system above
-Did a fresh XP install, updated all my drivers, and made ghost backup before installing any peripheral applications
    -Installed Kore2 (its working fine)
-Inserted DVD 1 of the Komplete 5 package
-Danced with glee as files started loading
    -Waited
    -Waited some more
-Started crying after 8 hours, finally cancelled the install- I was on the Trumpet files of Kontakt disk B when it finally just stopped, or more like 1 wav file per 5 minutes....
-Installed the service center, and tried to activate the other programs in komplete
-started crying again when it told me that they have to be activated as part of a Bundle (all or nothing!)
-sent an email to Native Instruments Support Team
-got a replay back assuaging my fears, and telling me that a new set of DVDs was needed- asked for my address
    -sent a reply with address
-got the replacement DVDs in time for the weekend (yippee!)
-started installing, and got really excited about playing with FM8 and Battery
-Oh the horror! The system is lagging out on Kontakt Disc B again!
    -Cried for hours
-Regained me nerve. Stopped the process.
-Went in and used the discs to install everything except for Kontakt 3
-Success!,but still couldnt activate anything without Kontakt
-Started trying to install Kontakt by itself this time
-Still slowed down BAD on Kontakt Disc B, but I decided to wait it out. I put Kontakt Disc B in my SATA DVD ROM at 6:00pm on Friday, and it just now asked me for Kontakt Disc C at 4:30pm on Saturday. ALMOST 24 Hours. We were averaging 1 wave file transfer about every 8-10 seconds
    - Inserted Disk C a few minutes ago (this is as far as I have ever made it in the process!)
-Which brings us to right now- I am watching it move wav files, maybe 1 per second- and the time bar says 53 minutes,23 seconds

I am hoping a make it through this! Please help if you can!

Same issue here. Hangs up with 40 secs left at the same file.

I have turned in a ticket and am awaiting a reply from NI.

Was wondering what they possibly told you to do?

    Solution

Hi. Sorry for my mistakes. It's my first post in english.

zerog.png is a graphic file used by Adobe Flash Player

Installation of Komplete 5 has bulit-in Flash player installer. When copying file "zerog.png", installation of komplete 5 executes installation of flash player.

Komplete 5 has bulit in flash 9.0 installer, so i mind that if you have installed flash player 10 or later, installation of flash 9.0 from komplete 5 has problems and cannot finish.

There is a way to turn around this problem:
    1. Turn the installation process of komplete 5
    2. When the installation stops at "zerog.png" file, turn on task manager (or something like that, I don't know the name, using ctr+alt+delete), and turn off (kill process) "flash player installer" ("install~1.exe" or someting like that).

    In another words:
At the moment that installation stops copying (on file zerog.png), push "ctrl+alt+delete", find task manager, and kill installation process of adobe flash player.

That's all. Installation will continue copying files without another problems.

I hope that You understand me and it'll help You.

    Damian

bbaryllac, that's a superb first post, thank you very very much! I just bought Komplete 5 today, and so you might save me a lot of trouble here if the problem would arise here too :D.

Is that true? I just can´t believe it!
That explains why I couldn´t see the NI Homepage after I encountered this error beside some other issues during install.

    For example: http://www.nativeinstruments.de/forum_us/showthread.php?t=74772

    ummmmmm.... no

Sorry but this does not work, I have been sent 3 x sets of disc now from NI and I still can't get past the installation rubbish, its getting ridiculous now.
I have even tried moving the files accross on the HDD and when you install from HDD same error of IO runnish.
I dont know what kill process file your talking about as its not there when you task Manager it.

None of these instrutions you have given work

There is a way to turn around this problem:
    1. Turn the installation process of komplete 5
    2. When the installation stops at "zerog.png" file, turn on task manager (or something like that, I don't know the name, using ctr+alt+delete), and turn off (kill process) "flash player installer" ("install~1.exe" or someting like that).
