I've tried twice now to install Komplete 6 on my Windows 7 DAW - entirely on drive C:, and twice it's stalled during the Kontakt library install portion. The freeze occurred at different places. On the 2nd attempt, I left the machine on overnight to ensure that it was, in fact, frozen, and when I looked in the morning it was still stuck at the same place. There were no error messages. Task Manager did not report that the install was not responding, so it looks like there is no error detection built into the installer itself. How annoying is that? This machine has been in use for a couple of years and has no issues. It is not over-clocked. All other software installed and operates flawlessly.

I'm not sure what to do next. I've submitted a technical support request but hate to think I may have to wait weeks for new discs.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there an alternate method to install the Kontakt library? Can I copy all files from the DVD's to another drive and install from there instead of the DVD's?

    Any insight appreciated.

Well I ended up solving the problem by copying all of the DVD's contents (including hidden directories) to a folder on another drive, turning off my virus checker and running the install as Administrator. Everything installed successfully within 45 minutes and authorized without any trouble.

    Good tip. :)

-- I might add another step "disconnect temprarily from the Internet"

I guess the virus checker (which one, btw?) may have had a tough time dealing with some of the big files during installation?

I was using McAfee (latest standard release - not the Beta Windows 7 one).
