    Hi,

I have komplete 5 and i'm interested in the new evolve mutations product.
I'm wondering if it's worth buying this now or waiting to see if it's part of a possible complete 6 bundle. Any thoughts?

    yeah the mutation looks nice!

ill say NOT worth it for full price if k6 is comming out.
unless you still find it for really cheap on ebay or somewhere

or unless you did a backorder.

Well hopefully mutations will be bundled with k6 - guess i'll just wait and see......
Thing is i already have k5, kore 2 and a bunch of soundpacks - i wonder what new features k6 will have to warrant an upgrade.

I doubt "Evolve Mutations" will be part of Komplete 6, since it is a derivative of Heavyocity's "Evolve" product -- http://www.heavyocity.com/

It will be interesting to see what NI includes in Komplete 6 given their current strategy of creating (or buying) "Sound packs", now they have both the Kore 2 Player (with sound packs) and the Kontakt Player 3 (with sound packs).

I would think NI would not want to give up the revenue of selling these small "instruments", but then what will Komplete 6 have in it to entice buyers?

    NO .... please!
I haven't really wrapped my diminutive intellect around reaktor 5 yet.
On the other hand - others shouldn't suffer because of that - OK then, bring on v6 :)

I bought the evolve sounds/ins ...i was looking for good FX "stings" but they arent that great i think...
The stings aint special..i thought that most of em could be relativly easily made in Battery3 if u have it....reversed cymbals and some other stuff layerd..(ok the huger bass aspects arent bad in the library)
I have made some much funnier stuff with Battery3--easy to make with big effect.

    FX/Impacts arent much there.

Often theres the same sound just pitched over the keyboard...thats a kit then..hmm alright.
(Battery can pitch a sample were u want it)

Theres way too much melodical stuff i thought.

One thing i havent checked out so much, are the drum loops--and how much/good the variations are mapped... For sampling and mangling maybe.

K6 is not coming out this year since there is not enough new products to justify it, apparently... I reckon NI might focus more on the Koresounds than on anything else, although I reckon they could make improvements to Akoustik Piano and Massive, and give some better bass amps and more effects pedals in guitar rig...

Would be cool if NI releases a product that gives you all the koresound packs, every last one, like Komplete Koresound bundle etc. Then reduce the price by 10 euros or so for each koresound pack you already own, and then you can download or buy the komplete koresound bundle new or upgrade no matter how many koresounds you have.

I think you are referring to a post from moderator EW? That was posted back in late '08... almost a year ago. ;)

As I understand it, we're likely to see a K6 release pretty soon now... early September perhaps?

OK, this info is based on my conversation with one sales guy in one music shop (it's a well known chain of stores, though! ;))

I bought Kore 2 last week and was saying to the sales guy that I was gutted I didn't have the cash at the time to take advantage of the Komplete sale offer price... but that also I wouldn't want to buy K5 only for K6 to come out a few weeks later.

The sales guy smiled and said that Komplete 6 would be out in September and that these NI products were being discontinued:

    Massive
    Pro 53
    B4

Now... what he didn't know was whether these were being discontinued in favour of new versions of these products. But surely these are 3 of NI's best sellers, and I can't imagine them discontinuing them forever?

    Cheers

    Leon

EDIT: just seen on the B4 forum someone saying they have had an email form Digital Village saying B4 is discontinued... The shop I was referring to was Digital Village.

i don't have any info on this but i think it would be ridiculous of them to get rid of massive. it's still hands down my go to synth for basslines and the like.

I was surprised when he mentioned these three. But the B4 seems to be definite (see thread on B4 forum) so maybe the sales guy was right about all three?

I thought all three were huge sellers but maybe not? The Pro 53 forum is very quiet. But is there a better known Hammond emulator out there than B4? Surely loads of people use it. And Massive too seems very popular with producers.

Perhaps there will just be new versions of all three in Komplete 6?

    KOMPLETE 6 IS COMING!

Bundled with Komplete 6 there will be Absynth 5, Kontakt 4, Guitar Rig Pro 4, Battery 3, Reaktor 5, Massive and FM8. This is a good lineup with 3 upgrades to the products and apparently the Absynth 5 is so far only available with Komplete 6.

    Here is the proof!

Personally its quite disappointing to see NI dropping so many of their products off the line, Akoustik and Elektrik pianos 2 would have been a real nice addition. Consequently though, K6 is priced much lower than K5 was when first launched. But hey, can't wait to get this!

    Komplete 6

    Hello,

We just announced KOMPLETE 6, the latest version of its popular software bundle that has become a mainstay with professional musicians and producers. The new collection offers a veritable arsenal of acclaimed instruments and effects that cover all areas of modern music production, including powerful new versions of ABSYNTH, GUITAR RIG and KONTAKT, at a significantly reduced price point.

KOMPLETE 6 incorporates the latest ABSYNTH 5, KONTAKT 4 and GUITAR RIG 4 PRO versions, which add significant creative capabilities over their predecessors, complemented by BATTERY 3, FM8, MASSIVE and REAKTOR 5. All included products offer comprehensive compatibility for current host software versions and operating systems. ELEKTRIK PIANO is now included within the new KONTAKT factory library, while AKOUSTIK PIANO, B4 II and PRO-53 are no longer part of the bundle due to their discontinuation as individual products. Overall, KOMPLETE 6 includes an assortment of 7,000 individual preset sounds based on 60 GByte of premium sample material.

With its powerful selection of state-of-the-art instruments and effects at only half the price of the previous bundle generation, KOMPLETE 6 continues to mark the cutting edge of software instrument technology, and provides an invaluable resource for all areas of modern music production and performance.

KOMPLETE 6 will be available in October 2009 for a suggested retail price of $559 / 499 EUR. An update for owners of KOMPLETE 2/3/4/5 will be available for $169 / 149 EUR.

Furthermore, Native Instruments will offer a special time-limited upgrade for owners of any version of KONTAKT or REAKTOR. These users will be able to purchase KOMPLETE 6 at a special price of $339 / 299 EUR until December 31st 2009.

More information on KOMPLETE 6 can be found at
    www.native-instruments.com/komplete6.info

    Best regards,
    Chris

    Those are good deals indeed.
However, is there a better discount for those who own more products?
In my case, I own every major NI product except Guitar Rig and Absynth, all in the latest versions.

    Thank you for any info...

    Price policy

Quite disapointing that Komplete 5 owners pay the same upgrade price as, say, those who have never upgraded since v2. And the kore software is 'missing', too.

Well, you have had the use of all those additional goodies which the non-upgraders missed out on in the meanwhile!
