Komplete 7 Installation failed

Same problem here with Battery Disc A not loading - my computer said the disc was blank.

I aborted the install and did it again by skipping the Battery install. So far working fine. Will contact support about getting the Battery installed.

 

Same problem here with disc B.

Rather than go through the whole NI ticket process, can someone just post the download link they received for the fixed versions of Disc B, packages 2 and 3?

yes, i just went through the same thing with trying to install my new Komplete 7 on mac pro running 10.6.7. turns out the company knowingly let defective installer disc (Kontact 4 disc b) continue to be sold to unsuspecting customers; me being one of them. Staying up all night trying to find out why the install was failing: found all these posts ( thank goodness), and spent another 24 hours before I was sent the replacement disc. Now I will wait an additional week for this disc to arrive.
Have not used ni before, and have had wonderful feedback from others. This is my first and last dealing on principle alone.

This all seems really absurd to me. I mean to say, the amount of money this package costs, and there is all this complicated dancing around to fix a multitude of installation malfunctions. where is ni in all this?( and why have they not stepped up and offered some compensation for the time ( money) spent by all the customers that spent these problems?)

 

Same problem... Can't create .dmg of the offending disc either. Disk Utility comes back with another error (no input/output, or something like that). Had the same issue with Komplete 6 as well. Had to get a new install disc from NI directly, which took a month or so.

Is this the sort of quality I should expect from this company? I have never run into this many problems from any other software I've tried to install on my computer. I'm very let down by N.I. right now.

 

Sadly, the same thing has happened to me running on a mac.
Gonna try to install all the other libraries .
How do I get a ticket to get a replacement disc?

Hi all:

Wanted to hopefully assist with this issue....
got my replacement disc from ni after a week and managed to install the entire program.
Today before work i also managed to get a synth sound while in Logic pro.
The big moment arrives.
Had a rather nasty email response from ni regarding this manufacturing problem, stating that they had not intended to cause the customer problems etc.

perhaps i over reacted.

Time is money, and it has been a total of two weeks and most likely over 25 hours to get this thing installed.

In the end, i am sure it will be worth it.

Replacement Disk for Komplete 7 failed

I too have spent many hours on trying to install Komplete, specifically Kontakt 4: Disc B. I received the replacement disc and after spending several more hours I can report that the installation fails at exactally the same spot and the only way I can even kill the installer after that is by a reset to my PC.

And these are the people that want me to plunk down a fist full of dollars on Maschine after pulling the plug on Kore?

I am so very sorry that the replacement disc did not work. I am pretty sure you got a bad disc to replace your bad disc.

i am running 10.6.7, and had no problem with my replacement disc.

Not sure what to say. I know when i talked to the retailer before I determined the problem they were not inclined to refund my dollars due to the fact that the software had been opened.

My only way was to deal with ni and request the disc.

Can you run your onboard disc utility to confirm the disc is bad?

This is what i used to determine mine was no good. At least that way you can talk to ni and inform them about the second disc if that is the case.

if you can not get them to send you another, i would consider sending you mine if you would return it after you install the program.

I was installing komplete 7. Is this what you are trying to install?

Failed Download Now

Ugh, this problem is brutal. I finally got the download link (it was a Friday, so I had to wait till Tuesday), but now I've made five attempts and the download has failed every time around the 2.5GB mark. This is so frustrating. The error I'm receiving on Mac is NSURLErrorDomain Error -1. Anyone know what that means?

In the meantime, to save anyone else going this problem some time, here's the download link provided for the bad disc, along with the instructions provided by customer service. Maybe it'll work for you.

Download the image file (ca. 6 GB) using this link:

After the download has completed, insert the first KOMPLETE 7 installation disc
from the original disc set into the computer and run the installer again.

On the 'Custom Installation' screen with the installation options, please uncheck
all components that have already installed properly:

If the Main installation disc (first disc) has already successfully completed
installing, you can uncheck all applications and plug-ins

If Battery Discs A and B have already successfully completed installing, you can
uncheck the Battery 3 Library under 'Content'

When the installer asks for KONTAKT 4 - Disc B, do not insert the physical disc.
Instead, double-click the Kontakt_4_Disc_B_09-08-18_13-51.iso file that you
downloaded; it should mount as a readable disc and the installation should
continue as expected.

I think files of this size should be downloadable via a keyed torrent. Saves you on downloading the whole thing if you're smart and save your broken disc as an image, too.

I had the same problem on my MacPro with the Battery 3 Disc A DVD.

I resolved my issues by using an older external Pioneer DVR-107 drive in a firewire 400 external combo drive - it read the 'problem' disc just fine.

It's well known that Apple has had issues with their DVD drives going back to the G5 2003 era. The OPTIARC DVD RW AD-7170A often can't read discs & Apple doesn't provide firmware upgrades for these units.

I know some of you are on PC, but an external DVD might help you too? Good luck to all. Best Walt

 

Yeah, a different DVD drive (internal or external) would make a difference no matter the OS. This is something anyone who has burned a lot of CDs/DVDs should have noticed. Certain drives simply hate the output from certain other drives.

You'd think it would be rarer with factory discs, though, since they are stamped instead of burned.

Neverben, thank you for the link that NI provided you. It took me an hour to download the 6 GB file. I didn't receive the error you and Ronny received. After the installer did its thing, it asked me to load Disk C.

Nonetheless, I am requesting a replacement DVD from NI. We'll see what happens...

This is my first post. I am new to the game. I too have a Macbook Pro. I am going to software for live performances. I ordered Komplete before I read this forum. Have I made a mistake? It looks like it. I am thinking of returning it when it arrives because it apparently will not install on my macbook pro and will not run on Lion. I did not spend this kind of money to acquire all these hassles. Can anybody talk me out of it? Is there a cure in the works? Please advise!

 

Komplete runs in 32-bit mode in Lion, but crashes in 64-bit mode. If you've got Pro Tools or Ableton Live you only get 32-bit mode anyway
(Note: Pro Tools is notorious for breaking even on bugfix releases of operating systems. I blame DRM.)

You can't say for sure if one of your discs will be a broken one before it arrives, though!

Same thing happened disc b kontakt failure

 

Do you know how I can download from my account, and install Komplete 7.
I was able to install first disc image, but I was asked to put in next disc,
I try to load second disc image. I just open the files, but did not continue instalation.
I don't have a cd player on my new laptop.
