i've just installed Komplete 7 after having uninstalled K6, however, I don't seem to have access to the few extra bits that I want to play with, namely the extra Reaktor bits.

Everything is activated in the service centre but only the basics show up in my plug-in list inside Abe Live.

Infact, there are no visible Reaktor Ensembles to be found whatsoever in the library. I want to listen to Prism but can't....annoying or what?

    Any ideas anyone?

The Reaktor ensembles won't show up as separate plugins in Live. You still have to use Reaktor. They're under the "Player" tab in Reaktor.

In the end, I installed Komplete again directly on top of my previous install. I know this isn't recommended but it fixed everything.

    Love Prism.

    Specific difference in libraries

Hi there... so are the entire sample libraries for Kontakt and Battery replicated from Komplete 6 to Komplete 7?

    Are there no additions?

Sounds like there will be total backwards compatibility for Kontakt and Battery for songs done in Komplete 6, after upgrade to Komplete 7.

I'm looking to install K 7 on a fresh machine, and move only the SONG FILES to the new machine.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

the libraries of Kontakt 4 and Battery 3 in Komplete 7 include some minor fixes, but sample-wise they are identical to the libraries that shipped with Komplete 6.

Sorry to sound like a total nOOb, but is it better to uninstall Komplete 6 before I install Komplete 7? I'm worried that I will be installing a whole second (mostly identical) library if I don't uninstall Komplete 6 first. Will installing Komplete 7 write new library material leaving the old or create a whole new Kontakt 7 library alongside the older Komplete 6 library?

I would think that those fixes are available to Komplete 6 users in the Library updates. Is that correct?

If so, and if the Komplete 6 install is fully up-to-date then the Komplete 7 Library for those products need not be installed.

Hi - I read the post you linked to further down, but this post confused me a little - I had my K6 library in users/shared/kontakt 4 library etc so I unticked these options and only installed the new stuff, but had to install to an external drive as I didn't have enough space- will there be problems because they are in 2 locations?

    thanks

    ok, install issue

I’ve never run into this problem before….
I recently (last two or so years) bought a mac. bought and installed komplete. logic, live, reason…bla bla….
I bought the mac with sole intention of keeping all my sound libraries on it….so I’ve run out of space. I’ve got about 64 gigs of space left, the update advertisement only said there was around 30-something gigs of new sounds, mostly in Kontact. so I figured it would be smart enough to know I had the previous (Komplete 6) versions/libraries/instruments and only give me the ‘upgrade’ I purchased.
well as I can plainly see no, and the installer obviously says I’m short for the full install.
I’ve run service center previously, there aren’t any upgrades online, but in the installer window it’s showing ‘upgrade’ next to all the previous instruments I owned. so are they upgrades? should I install them? and if so what would be a good method for doing the install…….
the answers I’m getting from other questions are:
delete and do a full install, apparently it’s not smart enough to know I’m installing an upgrade but smart enough to register these Komplete 7 discs as full versions using Service center to tell it that it should bc I’ve bought KOM6,
to un check the instruments I have installed already(but the installer says it’s ‘upgrade’…..)
but the problem isn’t in any of that. id do a full install just to make sure if I could, it’s the space. it’s the Kontact library. I can uncheck everything and the Kontact library still wouldn’t fit, with the old one installed as well.
needless to say that’s a big concern, seeing as that’s the biggest thing about this upgrade(size anyway)
install paths and all isn’t an issue, I’ve always used the default path to keep things simple. ill still have over 30 free gigs of disk when this is all said and done.
    so what do you think?

To any that have this issue in the future I use a Mac so if this applies, all i did to upgrqde without having the space issue from a previous install was find the exact folder that contained the actual kontakt sound samples only, deleted it, then installed right over it. I always use the default paths so it was easy. Used service center, entered the key and bam no repeat files. It's hard to get help here it seems so id advise looking to another site for asking a question.

ok, i have a question-- i have komplete 5, 6, and 7 and am restarting my new desktop as a studio. there are piano sounds on 5, for instance, that do not get included later, and i believe i have some of these sounds in projects that i will need to open later. should i install 5, then whatever is left from 6, and then what is left with 7? or should i install 7 and then choose files from 5 to include? will this mess it up? just wondering.

If you want to guarantee all content go ahead and go 5,6,7 and then run update. You're going to be busy, but coming from komplete 6-7 myself, the old content you speak of isn't there to my knowledge

Adding/installing content and software download updates

    Hi,

I'm a Komplete 6 owner/user and I just installed the new components from my Komplete 7 upgrade (Abbey Road Drums, Scarbee, Vienna, etc.). I downloaded a number of files from the Service Center (as usual). I have a 2nd internal sample drive and installed the content on it but...
    1. I did screw up (a bit) as I didn't notice that instead of just installing the new sample content on the "root" of my sample drive it created the folders Users-->Shared and then subfolders (Berlin, Scarbee, etc. See the attached screen shot). Not the end of the world, but it's an extra layer of navigation than I wanted. There's nothing to be done at this point but reinstall it from the beginning into a new, newly named folder as I don't want to move/rename anything that's already been installed, correct? I guess just live with it.
    2. My MAIN QUESTION. Since I've installed these various new sample libraries and now downloaded all the content updates (as well as some software updates) I noticed when I started to install "AbbeyRoad60sDrums_110U_OSX," for example, that the installer was defaulting to my boot drive.
    a. I need to make sure that every CONTENT download or update is manually changed to install on my sample drive (the user-->shared folder), not my boot drive?
    b. Any SOFTWARE updates need to default to installation on my boot drive? That's where they belong?
    c. I have to watch each installer like a hawk to make sure it's set properly as I don't want content stuff on my boot and software stuff on my sample drives, yes?
    Possible a bit complicated, no?
    3. Is there a way of "purging" files I've already downloaded from the Service Center? Every time I go there I still get manuals and even content updates that I've long since downloaded and installed! It just makes for a more cluttered experience as I have to parse the listing, as opposed to simply only seeing the needed files listed. Perhaps this is because in the past I did what I just mentioned (can't remember) and had some files installed on my boot and other on my sample drive and Service Center can't find things?
    4. If I inadvertently re-install an older version of a file does it indeed wipe out the more recent one or is Service Center (or the app itself) smart enough to know it isn't updating and won't wipe out the more recent file with the older? If not, my problem no. 3 is more of an issue.

    Long questions!

    Thanks,

    Joel
