I don't see Battery listed, just Studio Drummer. Product upgrade?

Battery will, most-likely, have been replaced by Maschine. Kore and Battery get pumped into one unit - it kind of makes sense and even excites me a little bit.

Of course, the 'promo' work could be a wind-up?

The ultimate edition looks pretty cool as a concept. I like the idea of the included HD to house that 240gb library!

Its been stated over and over again that battery isn't being discontinued and has a long life ahead of it. This is the official NI statement and it was made very recently. Everyone knows from K7 that its impossible to put all that is included in Komplete in a short ad, I think its safe to assume the same applies here. Given the "ultimate" version of K8 contains everything you could possibly think of, I would be surprised if battery doesnt make an appearance somewhere

Exactly - I think the key thing to look at is the number of instruments included vs the number specifically mentioned.

Do we have to wait three weeks for Keir to "collect information" from the powers that be and tell us if those pics are true, valid, and official NI ad materials?

Do NI qualify some of their 'patches' as full instruments....

I mean, do The Mouth, Razor, The Finger, Prism & Spark all qualify as instruments?
Scarbee packs, Alicia's Keys, George Duke, Abbey Road, etc - are they 'instruments'?

I'm pretty sure that all these would add up, combined with anything that they might well have lined-up for K8. Even if there's a small-chance that NI create a new 'player' to mask Kore Player's void....

Don't get me wrong, I am actually quite excited by the K8 ultimate bundle (upgrade envy) but it does strike me as odd that Battery would be left off of the big-guns as it's one of NI's flag-ship products but also could be seen as something Maschine conflicts with

I've got Maschine and I've got Battery - they are very, very different beasts and are not conflicting products.

I despise the leaks of partial information and teaser pictures. All this does is raise my stress level. It's bad enough that we are powerless. But to tease us with bits and pieces is just mean spirited.

I wish they would be more professional about it and let EVERYBODY see the SAME THINGS all at the SAME TIME.

It was an ad for a publication dated september that seems to have been published a month ahead .... I'm sure NI won't make that mistake again ;)

I'm not saying that they're identical, just similar enough for Battery to go the same way as Kore perhaps.

If you look closely at the bottom right of the ultimate pic you'll see battery's gui so it did make the komplete 8 cut (atleast photographically)

Thomas said that a few weeks ago. Which makes it "old information" at this point. Which makes it a "specification subject to change without notice," as the boilerplate usually reads.

No offense intended to you or any of the other mods, but you or Thomas or Keir can say it "loads more times," and I'll still have my doubts until an official announcement is made, such as in a press release or when an actual advert or email hits my inbox and it contains an official list of included instruments.

Until I get solid confirmation in some form and not just a repeat of a moderator's weeks-old claim, I will continue to have a healthy skepticism and big doubts that this or that instrument will be included in Komplete 8.

The way I feel right now, anything could happen. Maybe Native Instruments will tell us that it has decided that Linux-only is the way to true happiness or that Komplete 8 will be only available for Muse or Android devices or just for iPhone and iPad.

Call me silly, unreasonable, dumb, or just plain grouchy, but this goes to my hesitance to believe with abanon just any damned thing we're told here on this forum, and even to have some healthy doubts about so-called "official" information.

Sorry, but this is what Native Instruments has done to me; made me a "doubting BIF". I ask you to be patient and understand my concerns. And respect my mindset.

Re-trust is a long process for me. Longer even than "first-trust". That's just the way it's going to be.

i bet komplete 8 ultimate has battery but komplete 8 doesnt. This will be a move that will make people have to decide what they want/need/can afford.

I reall will not be surprised if komplete 8 has upgrade pricing but ultimate doesnt except for maybe from komplete 8 and im sure it will be a pricing that "kost" more than just buying ultimate from the get go.

might be something like this: upgrade to komplete 8 from komplete 2-7 $249
upgrade from komplete 8 to ultimate $799.

Or another very good possibility is no upgrade path to komplete 8 ultimate, and why you may ask, because who wants half of what you could have? See only the people that just absolutly cant afford ultimate will buy komplete 8.

Its kind of like me saying hey ill sell you a candy bar for 99 cents but you can have a king size candy bar for $1.75.

I noticed that on the avert there is a link to "http://www.native-instruments.com/ultimate", however, it's a dead link.
Also the typeface with the "8" doesn't sit well, the "8" is taller than the text.
3rd, what are "http://www.brentradio.com/" credentials that they would have the ultimate inside scoop regarding native instrument product line?
