Komplete 8 ultimate library size

If I check the properties of my Komplete 8 library, it reads 178gb. Where is the other 60+ gb of samples? Or am I missing something here.

Also, just checked the properties of the install HDD and it's only 180gb with 117gb free. Seems a bit light when it has an advertised 240gb of samples.

 

Hi guys

Can I kindly ask if someone who is 100% happy with their K8 ultimate install, right click > properties their finished library install folder and let me know the size. Also for the install HDD, can I again kindly ask someone to plug it in and tell me how much disk space is used?

K8U seemed to successfully install on my pc, and allowed me to activate it, but as above in my last post, my library is only 178gb and the install HDD Only has 180gb of data on it.

Some of the samples are probably compressed. I've been obsessively applying OS X file compression on installation folders after getting new sample products, and there was nothing to gain on samples after installing Komplete 8. With K7 I gained at least 40GB. Roughly 60GB gain from NI's Kontakt compression seems alright, maybe even a bit on the lower side.

Should have done a bit of investigation before I got my knickers in a twist.

 

It feels good getting a lot o' gigabytes for your money (and for that huge chunk of money, you want a lot of them gigabytes!), but on the other hand it's great to have an optimised product which takes up as little space as possible

129GB left on my 750GB internal drive. I sort of hope NI wait another year for K9

 

My NI Library in the Public directory takes up 205GB after all online updates applied (and installing things such as the Drummer files)

The install also puts things in various other places

The diskspace on the install Hard drive is irrelevant, they aren't copied, they are unpacked from some kind of compressed file system

The harddrive they send us is what I'm talking about. What I meant is that it will be smaller on there as the pre-installed files will be compressed.

So the size in the drive they send us is irrelevant for working out how big the actually installed files will be

 

Oh yes, those would often be smaller, depending on how much of NI's audio file compression is applied on the content.

 

Mine is 206GB after installing the 60's/70's/80's/Modern drummer updates, the links for which you should have gotten via email.

 

are there unlimited amount of installs for komplete 8?
i need to reinstall on diff pc

only three computers?
what if i uninstall on this computer and reinstall it say 2 times
does that mean i cant reinstall it anymore if something goes wrong?
