Komplete 8--Worth it for me?

I own 9 of the products listed in Komplete 8, mostly the bigger stuff like Kontakt, Massive etc.. I am eligible to buy it for 399 apparently. I have plans to start using Maschine almost exclusively in my set up so the idea of having everything in one place to browse from the hardware is pretty appealing, and I wouldn't mind getting the NI stuff I don't have, the piano stuff in particular. However the idea of re-buying anything is annoying and wasteful. Any opinions---is it worth the $399 to get the stuff I don't have and have everything browsable from Maschine? Anyone else taken this drastic step? :)

    I own:

    Traktor
    Massive
    Battery
    Absynth
    GR 4
    Razor
    FM8
    Kontakt
    Reaktor

I'd wait until Komplete 9 if I was you.

Good ideas...wonder what K9 would add to the mix.

yep wait for komplete 9 ..im guessing itd be a few of the new ones such as razor and ill bet they scrap battery 3 and include maschine instead because you can use that exactlly the same as battery and you dont need to use the controller to use it.

There's no way they'd include Maschine. The entire point of the software is the perfect control via the hardware and vice versa. And the thing is still selling like mad, especially with the new MK2 on its way.

Maybe in some Ultra-Ultimate bundle that includes the controller (like the Kore bundle) but not just the standalone software. I agree with maybe phasing out or updating Battery though... who knows.

i still think theyll give away the software in the new komplete 9 or maybe a some kind of stripped down version..battery is really old no and i bet not many use it as most have moved on to maschine or other drum software..i know ive not bothered with it even though i have it and everyone i know whos had it for years are the same they use kontakt instead.

so too include a drum package in komplete which they always do theyd have to include maschine or a new one.

and maschine works happily with other hardware controllers not just the bundled hardware.in fact if they wanted too ni could create a small no screen version of maschine that would be cool to use..ive still not got used to the way you need to hold down some buttons to control certain things i find it quicker to look at the screen .

They are actually giving away Razor and the Mouth in addition to K8. Not sure what else they could throw in there besides Maschine. I think I'm going to go for it.

battery is amazing if they dropped that that would be a backwards move by NI, even though its old and doesn't integrate with machine as seamlessly as most of the other NI stuff due to the fact there are more cells in battery. i think what would maybe be a better idea would be to integrate the battery sounds into kontakt.
