Hi I'm using this thread to gather together various tips, templates, and libraries converted to Kore 2 format, so that anyone who has upgraded to Komplete 9 can integrate it within the Kore environment successfully. Despite some of the changes this is still almost entirely possible to do with just a little effort.

Kontakt 5 Library converted to Kore patches (with full mappings of controls and attributes):

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=150617

Komplete Reaktor synth templates for Prism, Razor, Monark, Spark and Skanner XT:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5646041/Kore Templates/Komplete 9 Reaktor Ens Kore templates.zip

NB. For these because I don't know where you have saved your own copy of these ensembles if you encounter a message saying "can't find the ensemble" just locate it yourself and then resave the template to a suitable location in your Kore user folder - then...

Since Reaktor is still Kore compatible so you can use each of these templates not just to control the synths but also as a template from which to batch import all the banks into Kore (there is no point in me supplying these as they may only be relevant to my hardrive locations - it's easy to do and if you add attributes as you import banks they will be catalogued too)

For the "flagship" synths - Massive, FM8, Absynth the sounds should still work, even if you have chosen to tick the box to use updated versions in options. Personally when I am using Kore I still use the engine versions. For Massive I have made an improved controller page file which will work with all versions:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5646041/Kore Templates/Massive.ndp.zip

What else is in Komplete? Well the FX I haven't bothered with yet; most have just a few controls anyway so the standard plugin view is fine for those. They don't need templates. As for presets; you can choose to convert your own, they don't batch import but there are not many, personally I haven't bothered because I rarely use the presets anyway.

Same for the Pianos and Drums - I don't use these and haven't even installed them apart from the African Drums but the controls are very basic - it would not take long for anyone to make a template for these if you need to.

Not got round to trying a template for Battery 4 yet, tbh I don't use it a lot and the challenge would be creating controller automation for each kit first, then using that to create a Kore template. Doable - this is what we had to do for the Kontakt 5 library - but a heck of lot of work and could end up pretty messy as you have controls per cell. Probably best to leave that to each user to do how they want than try and make a one size fits all template. I might try making an example at some point though to show how it's done.

Guitar Rig 5 - best to use the plugin view as it automatically adapts to whatever is loaded - mostly that works fine - it would be a massive task to resave all the 700 odd factory patches as there is no batch convert so not done yet.

    Anything else we could add?

Re Battery - looking at the Kore library for Battery 3 it looks like NI literally just saved each patch as a ksd - there are no hardware mappings or anything. That would be easy to do but I wonder if Battery is the one and probably only example of where a better controller for it would be Maschine?

Something with more and better pads would be a good idea.

Can you give me a example of a product with better pads than the MkII?

I thought the MK2 pads were a lot nicer than the MK1 and no different than the MPC2000 I had many, many years ago. Very responsive unlike the MPD16.

Thanks for educating me, I only compared MKI to other products, didn't know they improved the pads in MKII.
When demo'ing them I preferred MPD32 and PadKontrol.

Hey Kymeia - looks like you're the Kore guru. I'm on Komplete 8, and still have Kore Player 2.1.4... this is probably impossible, but you're clearly you're the person who would know. Is there any way of getting the old Komplete 7 Kore add on working in my case? I don't have K7 unfortunately, only K8. Still love the idea of having all those tagged presets in one place. I was sure they'd have released Maschine Player by now to do the same job, but apparently not. Thanks!

Sorry not I have no experience with Kore Player as I've always just had Kore full, however I do know it only loads official NI soundpacks and factory KSD content so any of the additional patches I converted won't work. I'm not sure how much of Komplete 7 ksd content would still work with Komplete 8 - I think at least the Kontakt stuff probably won't but not sure about what else is in there.

Gotya - was hoping for the K7 Absynth, Massive, FM8, Prism etc presets - just the factory stuff really. Ironically the Kontakt stuff I'm least fussed about as I use Kontakt itself all the time...

Thanks Kymeia - problem seems to be getting hold of them, as I don't have K7, only K8.

Absynth, Massive, FM8 and Reaktor still install ksd files so you already have those. IIRC the Kore Player can only see the expansion packs, not the Factory Libraries.

Yup, I can confirm I don't see any of those in Kore Player. Grr.

Looks like its just not possible, doesn't it? Great shame - its a huge step backwards imo. If Maschine Player existed that would be a useful replacement, but it doesn't. So much for progress. NI had a great integrated system once upon a time... we used to have aeroplanes that went at twice the speed of sound.... men used to walk on the moon etc etc.

Yeah, imagine, the Concorde had a record time under 3 hrs from New York to London :)

Integration was only really good with the full version of Kore, so don't expect much from a Maschine Player.

Integration isn't so great with the full version of Maschine either, have you seen that browser? Lol.

    @Kymeia

Thank you very much for the hard work to develop .ksd's for Kontakt 5.

My question is: A few Sounds are very loud, in my opinion too loud, sure you can pull down the volume, but why you add + 13.92 to the master volume of Kontakt on every ksd? Is there a way to get the ksd's with + 0.00 to the master volume.

Updated links - some people are still using this apparently

I'm told this still works, amazingly, although it doesn't include the latest Kontakt stuff - but I could also add templates for newer Reaktor ensembles including Rounds, Kontour and Blocks
