Komplete 9 Ultimate Crossgrade

    Hi,
    :D - Got 50% off the upgrade from Komp 8 Ulti to Komp 9 Ulti
    :| - After purchasing find out I have to wait 4-8 weeks for them to ship something I could download.
    :| - Waited 4-8 weeks for shipping
    :S - Compared the two hard drives from the original Komp 8 purchase... Looks like a downgrade
    :cool: - Started the install, noticed it will take 5 hours, left for the night.
    :| - Came back and it still said 5 hours, with about 5% left of the bar to load in the install screen, and the load bar was frozen..
    :angry: - Tried it again, freezes

    Using macbook pro, OSX 10.9....

    I've read literally everything regarding the fails to the komp9ulti... So all I've learned is no one else is having the same problem, and not a single NI CSR is helping on this forum. This will be my last purchase with NI.

    Currently I'm going to try copy pasting all of the files from the NI crappy hard drive to my other seagate hard drive on WINDOWS and the bring it back to my mac and try to run it. That's all I've figured out by reading these troubleshooting posts.

    This is primarily a User forum, NI Technical Support do not post here often. Your best bet is to raise a Support Ticket for some one to one help is sorting out the problem.

    Curious - what leads you to consider it a downgrade?

    Komp8Ulti was a metal case, with a very well centered logo, that isn't a sticker, this probably took some time, very sharp looking case, I'd be interested to know where to buy some of these for my production projects I pass on to other producers, very impressive... No issues with the installation.

    Komp9Ulti is the cheapest HD I have ever had in my possession, with a sticker on it, that isn't even centered. They were selling a product they didn't even have the supply for... I'm not economics student, but I do recall "supply" and demand. Plus, did I really just wait 4-8weeks for a shitty hard drive, that doesn't work immediately, and has a sticker on it? Issues with the installation, took me 4 days to figure out how to get it to install. After it crashed 5 or 6 times... And opening a ticket with them, absolutely laughable, last time I got on a call with NI it was worse than calling a call center in India. At least people in India are going to help you out and not be pompous assholes that are disrespectful the entire time.

    Sure the software internally isn't a downgrade, but just first impression, WOW.... Who would want to buy Komp10Ulti after seeing the lack of "We give a **** about our long term customers."

    What company isn't offering downloads for their content these days? Only thing that comes to mind is NI. How do you become a pioneer or business leader in software/hardware for something techie? It's sure as **** nothing involved with sending out hard drives with a f*ken sticker on it. That don't even install properly, that have to be tricked into working properly (ie: anything you read in the forums is how people have to use loop holes to get anything to work), and you would think they would have some kind of beta testing phase...

    As a business intelligence consultant I simply am astonished that NI simply just let it all go in such a short amount of time. Generally you would see this in a company that has been around for a lot longer, and it would be a gradual trend downward. This release just goes to show what their number one priority is. Don't get me started on Maschine, if you compared ableton push (500-600$ less) side by side, you would laugh.

    I like how they push the digital readout showing the waveform as a selling point, "you don't have to look up 5 inches to see it on your screen"... so give us more money for what every other controller does better and more efficiently.

    Call me crazy, but Comp8Ulti and the upgrade to 9Ulti wasn't cheap. At the very least I'd like my money to go towards something that works properly. Sorry for letting it all out... This just wasted a lot of my time. It would be nice to see NI actually respond to these everyone properly and give out some kind of "We are sorry we dropped the ball Massively" download of some sort.

    I'm having almost the same issue, mine just says "Failed to install as software to install is not found". How did u install it in the end? I've formatted my MBP to see if that would help but didnt.

    I feel the same about the crappy drive and wish i could download and install and this is PAINFUL!!

    Please help.

    I'm trying to solve the sam problem with NI installation hard drive which doesn't want to install anything after I type my Apple ID password. I tried also copying the whole K9U upgrade content to another external drive and installing the software from this new location, but it didn't work for me. I'm still waiting for NI support team reply.

    I have the same problems. Did anyone found a solution to install it one way or the other? I mailed support two weeks ago and got no reply yet.

    A trwa dąsy Agora I received a reply from the NI support. In my case they suggested deselecting Session Strings Pro and gave me download links to this library. Unfortunately, even when I deselected Session Strings Pro my installation failed again. I also tried installing K9U upgrade with Kontakt deselected, but the result was the same. Then I selected only Kontakt libraries (except Session Strings) - another disaster.
    Now I'm waiting for another suggestion from the NI support team. I'm getting more and more angry.

    tyler, i feel your pain, this is by far one of the worst companies, along with the worst product on the market today. People can say all they want about the software, means crap if the customer service is poor, and the installation/download process is a joke.

    if it freezes during the install, force quit, or cancel, and go check to see if it installed anything. it never successfully installed but it did install the komp9ulti devices.

    once you get it to work, have fun installing updates for 3+hours.
