And what do you think the various VI's NI have run on which engine? Kontakt, just like EW uses their engin, Play. They do how ever, like NI have many different Libraries. And I'm not just talking expansions here (like the 10 or so expansion to studio drummer (studio drummer being the VI), but actual Libraries. All that NI has to do, Like waves and EW is release the engine/shell that runs the libraries, in NI case it's as mentioned earlier Kontakt. Wither you're using the scarbee, the Alicia key's, retro Machine, etc, are samples/patches, that are red by the Kontakt 5 engine, they are not different software's that are independent with their own versions of engines. NI actually only has 2 products that are to work with Pro tools. The Kontakt libraires that are included in komplete or bought separately bought still red through Kontakt, and Maschine. So that's only 2 products.

You're wrong - it is NOT "only 2 products". You seem to forget that apart from Kontakt, NI has a heap of other products that DON'T use the same engine. It is a LOT more work, because they are all different codebases - one for Absynth, one for FM8, one for Massive, one for Maschine, one for Reaktor, one for each of their effect plugins, etc.

Much, MUCH more work than EW had to do.

So, Maschine 2.0 is confirmed to support AAX 64. Does that mean we can use Maschine to access all of our Komplete VIs in PT 11? Or will the other VIs such as Massive and Reaktor not work inside of Maschine 2.0 when used as an AAX 64 bit plugin?

I sent an email to ask this exact thing. Of course NI takes forever to respond if ever. My school has no choice but to continue using PT 10 until this is resolved. Most of our plug-ins are NI/Komplete. We're not advised to use other DAWs because PT is still the industry standard. But with my extended PT knowledge, I can go into just about any studio and feel right at home. Nothing against other DAWs but I'm leaning towards working in the industry as an engineer more than likely and not as an artist. I have spoken to some artist who do prefer Logic Pro though.

I just got an email. 64 bit pug-in updates are here except for Guitar Rig 5 Pro.
