Komplete Aftertouch?!

hey all.. does my s49 have aftertouch or i need to open it somewhere at options?

Well, whatever instrument/softsynth you're playing needs to have aftertouch mapped to something for you to be able to hear it in action...

 

Perhaps also worth noting that when the S-series keyboards are used within Maschine aftertouch will not work (as Maschine doesn't receive/transmit AT for plugins) even if aftertouch is already mapped on the plug-in preset. If you are using Komplete Kontrol standalone (or within a DAW) you will hear the affects of AT as expected when playing the keyboard.

 

That's insane, I've thought about buying Maschine many times but that is a deal killer for sure. So I'm back to wanting an S series controller without the keyboard.

Yeah, I was a bit shocked when I first noticed this (I was trial-ing u-he's Hive in Maschine using the S-61 to play the notes. Some of the presets had notes about AT settings and I was confused as to why I couldn't get them to work... I loaded Hive in Ableton Live, played the same patches on the S-61 and it was a real 'hang on?' moment).

I do hope NI add this sooner rather than later because Maschine is almost the perfect platform for programming synths otherwise. (More so than KK for me as you can get an overview of all mapped pages and quickly jump to them using Navigate/Pad... plus the ability to see quite long parameter/page names on the Studio screens).

 

I have S49 and is not sending c-pressure (aftertouch) midi, well only randomly and with 0 or 1 values (see the pic). I'm confused.. is the keyboard? the firmware? somebody has an S49 and sends aftertouch midi messages??
