    Hi all,

After a bit of a fight with my KA6 I got things worked in Cubase. But I have two issues and they might be related: I have no sound using the SPDIF in. I connected several synths but no luck. Audio routing etc is good, line in 1 - 4 are working properly. What could be the issue?

Also, when I go to the system preferences on my mac, I can see NI USB audio in the 'other' category. When I click it, I see 'No Native instruments USB device connected' Tried several cables and reinstalling the driver already. Anyone with the same issue?

    SPDIF issues with KA6

I'm having similar SPDIF issues. Set-up: Using with PT9, KA6 and DBX Pre-amp. Can't get any signal from DBX pre-amp via KA6 SPDIF link and PT inputs set to SPDIF. WTF? Haven't tested other SPDIF devices yet, but my DBX SPDIF works fine with a Digi 002.

    S/PDIF issue: KA6 with Lexicon MPX1

Bought the KA6 yesterday just to found out that I got the same S/PDIF issue :(

My Lexicon MPX1 could detect the signal from KA6 output but there's no signal coming to KA6 input although the MPX1 indicates it sync'd with KA6. I'm using WinXP with REAPER and Premium quality coaxial S/PDIF cable 75 Ohm.

Everything went fine with my old ESI Juli@ :(

    Any solution?

Just got back from the store and tested my KA6 again. I hope I could explain this right:

    KA6 doesn't have S/PDIF In master clock!

So there's no way you can get input signal from other device via S/PDIF. Unless it has master clock device somewhere in the signal chain.

    :( :( :(

NI let me down this year.

    2 purchases:
    - Komplete elements 7: bought legal, but keeps telling me it's a demo version and is unusable after 30 minutes. NOT nice when used in gigs. No response from customer service whatsoever.
    - Komplete Audio 6: after using different cables, USB ports and the latest drivers: STILL I get the message: 'No Native instruments USB device connected'. Reported in the forums. No response from customer service whatsoever. AND my SPDIF-in does not work. Again, No response from customer service whatsoever.

    Thanks NI. I've had it.

...I guess I have to say thanks instead. I bought a Korg Kronos. Way better and reliable than this VST'i stuff when on stage :)

    Routing:

Im trying to send the Output of Maschine to SPDIF 5/6, patch cable it back into the SPDIF input 5/6.

This way I can route Maschine into the Live Input track of Traktor...

But doesn't seem to pick anything up?

    Fixed

In Mac OSx, open Audio Midi Setup. Click the tab for the KA6 to the left. Find the drop down for Clock Source, and select "External Clock S/PDIF".

Really, all you had to do was read the manual. But still. NA should have posted this solution themselves. =P

I want to resurrect this thread as I'm having the same issue, When I go to external clock it reverts back to internal and chafes the setting 41 kHz back to 48 kHz.

I am having the exact same issue. I know this in an old thread but did any one manage to find a solution?

External sync source will only activate if sync signal is detected on KA6 s/pdif input.

hi there, i guess this has no solution, but eventually I was wondering, if i go out from Korg Kronos with SPDIF optical cable to this converter http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=2948 from optical to coaxial and into this K6 inputs "5/6", would it be an option how to send actual sound? or it will transmit only clock sync? Anyone tried ? Or its just complete nonsense and will not work for some reason, im not aware of?
Or would it be an option ge around and use both audio cards together and try to route them into one for Ableton Live?

Hey guys! Here is the solution!

*** I can confirm that an "Optical-In to Coax-Out" convert module like the one linked above --->>> or any other brand found on Amazon ------>>> will work! ***

I am using one from "Impact Acoustics" for my Kurzweil and Korg hardware synth S/PDIF outputs into the Komplete Audio 6 . . . FYI ----> I'm using the Maschine Studio: ---->>> Set the computer and NI hardware to "External Sync" and use "Input 3" with a sample rate of 44.1/48k clock rate (Mac: Audio/MIDI settings)

----->>> *** I have not been able to get a higher sample rate (96k Enhanced) using the Komplete Audio 6 w/ Maschine Studio hardware? I believe that NI capped the external clock @48k max! ! !

    Hope this helps!

    God Bless!

so my apollo needs to get serviced and so i am using my audio6 from my DJ setup.. I seem to be having clocking issues.. I can't get the KA6 to slave to a Burl B2 ADC.. When I set the clock to external, it's only option is 44.1 and nothing else. so i switched the burl to 44.1, I still get no signal.. the spdif/sync LED's on the unit itself are not on since it's not receiving any signal.. any ideas.. btw, tried both spdif and AES outputs of Burl with no success.
