Komplete Audio 6: Can I route inputs 3/4 to the speakers without a DAW?

Hi,

I currently have the Komplete Audio 6 plugged in and I usually use it with Ableton. I have guitar going into input 1, mic going into input 2 and decks (2 x 1210s running via a Traktor Z2 mixer and Traktor Scratch) going into 3/4. The output goes to my speakers. I have also set up the KA6 to be my computer's sound card so whenever I play anything on iTunes (or similar), it plays through the KA6 and into my speakers through the output channel. Great.

My challenge is that sometimes I want to just want to play around on my decks and would like these to route these to my speakers, without having to open up Ableton and set up a channel for them to come through. Is there a way of doing this?

As my speakers can only have 1 thing plugged into them at once, I do not want to have to unplug them from the KA6 and then plug them into the decks every time I want to play on the decks on their own (if I can avoid it).

Anyone got any ideas?

The easiest way would be to plug the Decks into inputs 1/2 on the front (set the switch the LINE). An then using the Direct Monitoring feature to route the audio from inputs 1/2 directly to the outputs : https://support.native-instruments....nitoring-Feature-work-in-my-KOMPLETE-AUDIO-6-


By the way: are you on Windows or macOS?

 

I’ll give that a go and see what the guitar and mic are like run through 3 and 4 as I can separate those in ableton.

I’m on Mac. Is there another option?

Just as a general side note:

In case you don't need the guitar+mic at the same time (as the Decks), you could also swap between connecting the Decks and guitar+mic into inputs 1/2. Whatever works best for your workflow
