    I hope someone can help.

I bought Komplete Audio 6 today, and am trying to install it on a Dell XPS laptop (Core i7 processor), running Windows 7.

I followed the instructions in the manual to the letter, and it says that the software has installed ok. However when I connect the unit to my laptop I only get the flashing green usb light, which indicates there is a problem. I have also connected using a powered usb hub, but I still just get the flashing green light. In the Device Manager under USB controllers there is a yellow triangle and exclamation mark next to Komplete Audio 6. I tried updating the driver, but got a message saying that the driver is up to date.

Any advice on how I can get this working would be appreciated.

Did you by chance connect it to USB 3.0 port? Komplete Audio 6 doesn't work on my Renesas USB 3.0 port.

I have just looked under Device manager and under USB Controllers it says:

Renesas Electronics Usb 3.0 Host Controller
Renesas Electronics Usb 3.0 Root Hub

Has any one here managed to get their Komplete Audio 6 working using a USB 3.0 socket?

You can't use it on that port. You must use a USB 2.0 port.

    uh,uh fellows,

I have the same problem - actually it's even a Dell notebook with Core i7 Processor.

Looked up the device Manager and saw that it's a 3.0 USB port I'm trying to use it on, which doesn't work.

But what does that mean? Does it mean I can send the product back? Won't get it to run cause my USB Hardware is not compatible? Aren't they going to get it running on 3.0 USB ports?

Or is there any way to downgrade one of my USB to 2.0?

    Appreciate any help!

Ok, I have some news, but also the next question:

    1) I just had someone from NI on the phone (I live in Berlin, so it's just a local call), and they just confirmed that indeed it's not working on a USB 3.0 port. He also said he doesn't know if USB 3.0-support is on the roadmap, but he doesn't think it's gonna come soon.

    2) He also suggested buying an Adaptor USB3.0->USB2.0. But I don't think this exists, or does it?...normally the USB 3.0 is downwards compatible, so any device plugged in will work if it's made to work on a 2.0 Port. So I wouldn't know of any piece of hardware that would make the Audio 6 think it's been plugged into a 2.0 port, or am I wrong here?

    Ok now, problem solved....

@Zarg: I do hope you're still reading this, cause I found out how to run the card on the Dell XPS

It's so simple: You have a USB2.0-Port, it's a combined eSATA/USB.20, that's why you don't think of it as USB, but it is sitting there waiting for you.

Plug the card in there, and all is fine.

At least it was for me:)

Yes thanks for replying. I found out about the usb/sata port last week, (after approx 12 hours of trying and retrying the usb ports). I read that with the Komplete Audio 6 it's advisable the use a powered usb hub, so that's what I'm doing, and it works great.

I guess it's advisable indeed to use a powered hub, as I've had several Blue Screens when powering down after KA6 had been in use.
