As you probably have noticed by now NI are having a few specials on because christmas is coming up. In particular the Komplete Audio 6 special interests me where you can get guitar rig 5 for free if you purchase it. However, i dont know much about the quality and reliability of NI soundcards, so my question is, do you think its a worthy buy? Thank you.

It is a very nice sound card and the full version of Guitar Rig makes it a great buy.

I've had mine for a few months now... and I still like it! :D

what do you think of the focusrite saffire 24 dsp? its obviously more expensive but is it worth the extra cash in comparison to NI audio 6?

You should describe what you are going to do with the AI. Do you need all of the features on the Saffire 24? Are you planning on using it for vocals and/or multiple instruments....simultaneously?

I'm planning to record my bands EP in the new year, I would track the instruments individually such as the guitar, bass and vocals. The drums are going to be written using NI Studio Drummer. The guitar/bass will run through guitar rig and the vocals ill be using the akg 220. I've heard from alot of people in retail shops, internet and my own personal opinion that the focusrite soundcard is better it has more outputs/inputs and the mix control software is really neat. In conclusion, im trying to get my head around the price of the focusrite dsp €309 where as the NI audio 6 is €229 and im trying to figure out which would be a more sensible purchase and which will last the longest.

My point of view is if you have the money and want the best sound and options get the Focusrite and Guitar Rig separately. If your funds are tight get the A6/GR package. You could do what you want with the NI package. As far as longevity, the Focusrite seems like the one.

Maybe just having someone suggest an idea is all you need to realize what the best choice is for yourself. Sometimes that nudge in a direction brings clarity.

i was thinking the same perhaps in the future i can "upgrade" to focusrite but for now the A6/GR combo seems like the best option for what i'd need to make a half decent sounding ep. thanks for all the help dude i greatly appreciate it :)
