Ok. Drinking my haterade here but seriously......working with an AA Versaport but not their own Audio 8 that is totally bunk. I would give it a try but my IPAD 1 can't even upgrade to IOS 6 so I am out. double whammy for me....IPAD 1 and Audio 8.....Ugh! Upgrade upgrade upgrade right into the poor house! Ok I'm done ranting....Thanks for listening....I'm better

 

No point trying the Audio 8, it simply will not and cannot be used or updated for use with iOS devices.

Im not sure that when NI created the Audio 8 around 2006 they were planning on it being used with and iPad

The iPad 1 struggle with the current version of Traktor DJ and certainly with upcoming versions, even if Apple had not locked it down to iOS5. Remember it's Apple that have locked down the iPad 1 to iOS5 not NI.

NI have to produce the most future proof software they can and with the rate that Apple change and lockdown their hardware and software it makes sense to make an iOS6 compatible app.

It must be possible. The Apogee Duet2 and the Vestax Spin both use proprietary cables that charge and thoughput audio/midi. What I'm unclear about is whether it's just the cable or some voodoo in the audio interface because neither need the CCK.

if its just a special cable then someone will make a killing marketing one.

Allright. Ordered this, and also the "Hub" on miniinthe box, lets have a look at both of 'em

maybe we should ask Apple if its even posible, to use stream of data and charge the iPad by different lanes/devices...

That looks interesting and is another that I spotted a while back but again, it does not mention audio.

When you look in the Apple store most of the hubs/cables/connectors state whether they support Audio/Video or not.

That hub states it supports external hard drives. My understanding is that the iPad cannot import files from an external hard drive at all so im dubious about the claims of this hub.

Hopefully Pesict will try this one as well

 

that little hub may not work as a hub and charge the pad, but I needed such a little hub anyway

that other device promises a lot more, and I hope it works better then the first dock I ordered

yesterday I talked to an sales employee of Apple, and as I asked if he knew if it's possible to charge and use the data of the dockconnector, and he wasn't quite sure about that...
but he told me that the pins of the lightning port can be allocated with variable functions. Didn't knew that - so its up to the manufactures to build such an ideal solution, to charge and use the data port....

If NI is going to release such an adapter, i'll upgrade to an iPad with lightning, promise!

 

Hi there. Please can you help me please? Im new here.just brought komplete audio 6 and traing set with traktor dj app.im really flustrated trayed everything and still not working.im using rca cabels to conect with KA6 and camera kit conector with ipad and no sound no nothing;(.0n KA6 unit only usb light is on nothing else.dont know what to do. Please someone help

First of all, you need a powered USB-Hub between the Camera Connectin Kit, and the KA6.
And it helps a lot, wen you connect the ka6, and then start the App.
Maybe even closing the app, restarting the iPad could also help - had to do this once, the iPad got realy confused

 

maybe you need to update the driver on the KA6.

 

that also might be a thing you have to do.

as soon the KA6 "works" you can define wich Channel should use for what purpose.

Did buy powered usb hub, set outputs in traktor dj (master output 3/4 and monitor outputs1/2 only them give me any sound?) have a sound now thrue KA6, but the sound is crrap and cuting all the time;( conetction are; RCA from amplif. to big twin jack in 1/2 KA6 . tryed RCA to RCA in 5/6 KA6 and nothing.trayed all audio setup combinations and still the same. Only carrp sound. Also is it importatnd to use original apple camera kit? Im using cheep one, every so often ipad showing conector is not supported by ipad?

The "RCA" Ports on the KA6 are digital IOs, not for any analog Mixer, and are as far as i know supported by TDJ.
Also i would recommand to use the original Camera Connection Kit, since it's not 'just' a Adapter click

Did you mention on which iPad you're using TDJ?

 

Useing ipad 2. Been apple store today buy original conector and tryed. Still same cracking sound,bad quality;(.when i useing grifin cabel thrue smal jack in ipad with no KA6 sound is good.Im not useing mixer just normal SONY amplif with RCA to twin big jack in 1/2 KA6 .think will send unit back to dj shop and will get traktor audio 6.
