After a complete (manual) uninstall of Komplete Kontrol and reinstall, I'm still experiencing an issue that keeps me from using the software for all practical purposes.

    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Load Ableton Live
    2. Drag Komplete Kontrol VST to new MIDI track
    3. Wait for Komplete Kontrol keyboard to enable PLUG-IN and BROWSER buttons
    4. Click Browse button on keyboard
    5. Scroll to a VST in the left Window (let's say POLYPLEX)
    6. Scroll to a random preset in the right window
    7. Press jog-knob to "select" the preset
    8. Wait for preset to load.
The preset loads however the BROWSER and PLUGIN buttons on the keyboard are no longer available and I noticed the keyboard icon just next to the S61 text in the Komplete Kontrol UI becomes disabled. (See attached picture). Now, I can click on this icon and then the keyboard "re-enables" the PLUG-IN and BROWSER buttons and then I can play the preset. HOWEVER, the moment I try to do anything else on the keyboard that seems to involve a MIDI signal, the keyboard "jumps" to the MIDI display (with the MIDI button enabled) and the BROWSER and PLUG-IN buttons become disabled again. And I'm also unable to play anything and the aforementioned icon referenced earlier is toggle off.

Unfortunately, this renders this whole setup unusable.

Here is some info about my system:
    MacOS Sierra (Version 10.12.6)
    iMac (Retina 5K, Late 2015)
    32 GB of Memory
Ableton Live Standard (version 9.7.4 64-bit)
I also have an Ableton Push 2. I have unplugged it from the system just in case there might be something interfering there but it doesn't seem to have any impact in this scenario.

Any thoughts or more information needed to help troubleshoot this behavior?

EDIT- Jester MGee is likely much more on the right track with this one!

Could you clarify why you are switching to the MIDI mode so often? It is for the Ableton integration?

Even though the Plugin button is not lit, does hitting it get you back to the browser, by any chance?

Not sure he is switching to "MIDI Mode", the keyboard is defaulting to MIDI because it does not detect the host integration because of the missing NIKB00 parameter which is mapped in the included Instrument Rack.

This was probably THE most common support issue I would see with Live users with the MK1 and it's set to be the same. I made this same mistake myself in the beginning because it's not exactly clear what the difference is between the rack and loading the VST plugin on its own.

Indeed that is what I am doing. What is confusing now is, the Instrument Rack "folder" that's showing up in Ableton does not have the two ADG files I dragged to the default folder per the instructions. There doesn't seem to be any way in Abelton to determine exactly what the folder is on the system that's being loaded in that side panel. I have a feeling as soon as I know that location, I can copy in the Komplete Kontrol ADG files and load it from that location. Thanks for the steering.

I thought maybe rebuilding the Core library in Ableton would force it to show up (by deleting the files.db) but that didn't change anything. I saw it rebuild the core library but I still do not see the Komplete Kontrol instrument rack. I'll keep fumbling...forward, hopefully.

All is well with the world. Although I couldn't get it to show up in the default location within the Categories panel, I was able to see the rack in a custom folder I have in the Places panel. I'm fully operational and gonna go enjoy this thing. Thanks for the support. Cheers.

Nice. Just copy that ADG file to a convenient location in your user library so you can load it up. I have set it as the default rack to load when you insert a new MIDI channel (right-click channel header and "set as default midi track")
