Hello i recently upgraded to the Ultimate version of Komplete Kontrol. I didnt have enough space on my main SSD so i decided to download the "NI Content" on my HDD, even though i had a 2nd SSD i could've downloaded the content to. My question is, will this cause the Expansions and stuff to load slower compared to if i downloaded them in the 2nd SSD i had?

If so am i able to just copy and paste the NI content folder into my 2nd SSD instead of redownloading everything?

    Hello,

it depends on the USB port or on the port you use and much more. There are programs out there to measure HDD/SSD speed and access times, just use one and use the faster drive. But normally you have USB 3.0 or higher then the SSD should perform much better.

P.S. this should work if the drive letter is then the same after copy the stuff over

I would add that PC/notebook may have different USBs side by side. So, one also should choose the fastes one...

Is he using USB tho? I know it's assumed he has a USB attached drive but maybe he is on a desktop PC with HDD + SSD installed within? Hasn't actually stated an OS or configuration.

OP, can you explain your system a bit more?

I have 6 SSDs and 2 HDDs installed but I run all the Komplete content from HDD instead of SSD because it is so bloated with stuff and I rarely use most of it I just don't wanna take up 300GB of SSD space!

It loads slower obviously especially large libraries of sampled instruments and if you were using an external USB2 based drive it would be even slower again. How slow will depend on what content you use mostly, if you are loading mostly small libraries then it will not be too bad, just be sure you have the spare RAM to load everything into since streaming from HDD isn't always good.
