    Hi everyone,

I've been away from my Music PC for 2/3 months and when I got back, I updated Cubase and a bunch of NI programs. But Since then, in all my Cubase project, new or old, all the Komplete Kontrol channels are empty...the plugin assigned to the channel is no longer present in Komplete Kontrol and when I want to load a new one, I've got a message saying that I need to start Komplete Kontrol in Standalone mode because the plugin is not found.
The problem is the same wether I use Midi channels or Instrument Channels.

All the audio channels and Steinberg plugins (Prologue etc.) are working.

When I start KK in Standalone mode, all is working perfectly.

Any idea of what I'm supposed to do ? I really need help, all my work in progress is lost if I can't load my KK instruments...I need my music back...

    Thx.

    I assume PC?

If Komplete Kontrol is loading but nothing is loading within it and it is complaining about having to start in Standalone mode, check the version of the plugin then go and check the version of the plugin. COuld be that when you updated the actual VST plugin was not updated or was installed to another location (if you moved it manually that would be the case).

If that is the issue you need to locate the updated plugin on your HDD and manually replace the old one.

Thx for the quick answer ! This must be something like that ! Cubase is using Komplete Kontrol 1.9 and in Standalone mode, it is the 2.01 version...

I'll try to replace th KK fil that Cubase is using. Thx for the tip. I'll be back here to tell you if it works.

I'm having the same issue but with Cubase 8,5. The solution makes sense and the two versions (stand alone and cubase) are different so it will probably work but how do you do it exactly? I am not sure how I find out within Cubase where the files are kept. Thanks for anyone who can help.

First, helps to know what OS you are on as a starter since locations are different between mac/pc but I will assume you are PC since mac is usually a fixed location, just hope by guessing i'm not wasting my time.

You need to open NATIVE ACCESS then check where it is copying the Komplete Kontrol.dll file.

Then you need to check in Cubase where it is looking for VST plugins (a preference I assume, I am not a cubase user)

Then you put your detective hat on, get out the spy glass and investigate the plugin versions. One thing you can do is simply uninstall Komplete Kontrol and then once removed to a search for Komplete Kontrol.dll. If you find a plugin then this should not be, so delete it, then install KK again.

If you are on Mac, try googling this because I CBF explaining this again for mac.
