I recently bought a Komplete Kontrol A-25 keyboard. I registered the komplete Kontrol software which came with it. I tried the keyboard but didn’t like it. So tomorrow it’s going back to the shop for a refund.

I also have a Maschine Jam and bought Komplete 11 upgrade a while back. I believe Komplete Kontrol software comes with Komplete 11 but I never installed it.

My question is, what happens about the Komplete Kontrol Software which I registered with the unwanted A-25 keyboard. How can I unregister it and continue to use the Komplete Kontrol software with my Maschine Jam which came with Komplete 11..

    I hope this makes sense.

    Many thanks for any advice.

I think you need not do anything as long as you have Komplete 11 registered. Komplete Kontrol software should continue to work as part of Komplete 11.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you not like A25 keyboard? Any issues or you did not like something about it?

Thanks for your answer.. That would be nice, if I don't have to do anything..)

I didn't like the A-25 at first because of its size, too big and bulky. Things vibrate on my desk when I hit the keys.. My fault for not checking the dimensions. But the main reason I don't like it is that I just can't get it to control the effects in my Ableton Instrument racks.. I thought it might be a step up from the Akai mpk mini which I have, but now I've discovered that the Akai works with Komplete Kontrol and controls Ableton effects faultlessly and is a great size, I can't see any point in using the A-25... It actually crashed on me a couple of times too, just stopped working..

Yeah unfortunately we have to wait untill native releases an update where we can edit the midi template and then I think someone will make a script for ableton. But for now you can switch to midi mode and learn the knobs.

I see. Thanks for sharing your opinion. I was planning to replace my current keyboard with an A-series one this year. I will have to evaluate a bit more before I make the decision, especially because I am in a slightly worse situation than you as far as DAW is concerned. I use FL Studio and I don't hear good things about compatibility with it.

are you unable to control the instruments in logic pro X with maschine and komplete kontrol hardware as well?

eg. am i able to play a sound in logic via my KK mk2 directly?

No you can play them and map the 8 encoders but the buttons don't work in midi mode and you only have 8 midi ccs and cannot edit them via control editor.

So it doesn't sound fully compatible if you want to mix with Maschine hardware in logic....The more I learn about Maschine and Logic compatibility, the less I realize is possible.

I have Izotope RX 7 standard to isolate vocals and realtime time stretch, Maschine for producing, mixing, and mastering.....why would I need Logic in the mix of all of this? (I'm just trying to see if it's worth incorporating Logic in my workflow).

I tried it with cubase with maschine as plugin and I didn't liked it - so I do everything in maschine then export it and mix and master in cubase. It also has for me the big advantage that to go back and add/change things is a few steps, so I don't do it or really otherwise I would change things till mastering and at some point you have to say stop - it is what it is and it's not gone be better if I change the arrangement. But you have to learn that and I am actually in the middle of that process to learn to judge.
You should definitely try it it's like the old way with tape in a sense. And you can fully concentrate on mixing.
And then I can use my maschine studio as mackie control for cubase, another advantage for me.

    i feel you.

I there any other benefit to mixing in logic pro X as opposed to Maschine besides that? I see many people saying it's better in logic but can't understand why

For me it's also the mixer layout and in cubase the channel strip, bounce in place to save CPU, let windows open of plugins from channels that are not in focus (in maschine only possible with natines ones) and some little things
    - but theoretically you could also mix also in maschine
