Komplete Kontrol losing it's preset setting in Ableton when navigating away from track and back.

    Hi folks,
This seems to have just started for me when I just updated the Komplete Kontrol. If I load an ableton set and put in a Komplete Kontrol with an instrument-like Massive for example-the parameters show up as they should on the keyboard display. If I navigate away to a different track and then back, then the Kontrol just says "template" and switches to CC parameters. Anyone know what I need to do?

Also, I had some kontact instruments that were mapped to a scale so the keys with those samples are lit up and not other keys, but now all the keys are lit up. The actual patch plays on the keyboard though, I just can't edit any parameters anymore.

Did you happen to add just the KK VST instance to a track in live or use the included template racks that come with the KK software?

Though it says in the manual to use the templates it doesn't say what is so special about them. You need to make sure you start with the template rack they provide because in your KK VST instance you need to have this parameter mapped:

    unnamed.png

The B01 number will change for each instance of KK and I assume this indicates an instance of KK to the keyboard via the Live script. Make sure you see the above (and use the template supplied in the KK folder as a starter) and basically don't load the VST version directly.

The other thing I have found on my system is it only changes track status on the keyboard if you actually switch tracks from the keyboard. If you do it with the mouse it doesn't work (for me anyway though I am sure it is suppose to).

I've always just used the KK VST plugin. This was working up until an hour ago when I updated. I also reinstalled the Mapping script from when I updated to Abletin 9.3 a week ago. It was working and now it's not...so this is a new requirement?

I just looked, and I'm not seeing the rack you are mentioning. Where is it? Thanks!

Ouch-well that looks like it-so now they need to be in that rack. Anyone know what the NKBxx refers to so that I can jut put all my (many) KK instances in racks without having to redo anything?

The NKBxx is pre-mapped in the rack and it seems to be mapped to some "phantom" control that is created in KK when an instance is added because it changes number. No idea where it reads that from exactly but would be handy to know.

Just use the default rack and create your own version of the rack to be used and place this in your VST folder and basically forget the raw VST version. Won't help you with existing projects though :(

I also have this loaded as a default track in Live from start (you always need at least 1 in a set) and just duplicate the track when I need another

Bummer it won't help with old projects, but thank you very much for helping me out with that! I got back up and running on the project I'm on now. Cheers.

If you don't have automation in your old tracks (not sure how many you have) you could spend some time to open each track, open an instance and Save the preset you are using, delete the instrument from the track (leaving the MIDI data in tact) then load up the rack in place then select the saved preset?

If it's important that could help.
