    Hello,

Is it possible to switch KK software presets with MIDI Program Changes or CC messages?
Basically, I'd like to mimic the select next/previous Preset buttons from KK keyboard, and use Ableton dummy clips to change presets. I cannot work out how to do it...

You can use MIDI CC messages to control some things, but it needs to be learned from a device/controller first so not sure if you could send messages from Live specifically.

    - You need to open Komplete Kontrol in standalone mode
    - You need to NOT have your Komplete Kontrol keyboard connected/powered on

    You should note this button:

If you have your keyboard connected that button will instead be an "instance" button indicator showing your keyboard is connected to that instance of KK or allowing you to connect the keyboard to that instance (when in a DAW)

If you then click that button and select the "Buttons" tab it shows functions you can now learn from another midi controller. Just trigger what you want to make it work.

NOTE: You must ensure your midi controller is set as an input for KK in Preferences > MIDI

    Hi,
It's still crazy that a serious solution is not available, moreover it is only to go from next or previous. I'm not even talking about going directly to a specific preset. When setting up a live set this kind of option is essential...

If you have to create presets for a live show and switch sequentially through these, easy.

    - Load up each instrument then save the preset using File > SaveAs in Komplete Kontrol
    - Save the presets with a common tag such as "Live Show - Preset 1"
    - Switch to the USER library in KK
    - When you play this "Live Show" just enter "Live Show" in the search and all presets are listed in the order you numbered them
    - You can then use a KK keyboard to cycle through the presets easily or you can attach any MIDI controller with buttons, learn these to the next/prev preset buttons demonstrated above and now switch from another controller

Thank you for your answer JesterMgee,
I have put a solution of this kind in place for the moment.
At the beginning of my live set in Ableton I set my preset 1, then I assigned a midi control to "next preset" (by unplugging my A61 ...) to a midi part which goes in Komplete Kontrol.
I do loops and play several instruments, there's a lot going on in this set.
What I would have liked is not to worry about whether I have the right sound under my fingers, because often in rehearsal or live things don't always go as planned. If for some reason or another I have to restart a scene it will shift the presets.
That's why we invented the program change a long time ago and it's a shame that it is not compatible with komplete kontrol.
Like that when I launch a scene I am sure it's the preset that corresponds to this scene in particular.
This is why the next previous stuff is not really reliable, IMHO. but maybe it's just me...

Trying to decifer what you are saying, I believe your issue is that when you press the button it will trigger "next plugin page" but when you release the button it also triggers again? That would be some configuration with your keyboard button, you would need to figure out what kind of signal the button sends and change this via the keyboards software if possible. Maybe it is sending a Note on command on both press and release?
